The sisters are great learner, they played most of the snakes successfully in this video 👍🏽
@dennisdose56972 жыл бұрын
Many years ago I played a guy pretty often who used a shot similar to Adam's snake. At first it was effective but once you got used to the way it bounced it was just an easy smash setup. His real strength is his accurate defensive returns but they leave him vulnerable to short drops and direction changes. The snake seems to me to be more of a party trick. Opinion, for what it's worth.

that was a really fun video with everyone enjoying it. Great to see some doubles since I really suck at it and was interested to see the Sisters play and being so efficient with their movements. I usually steer way too far from the table to allow my co-player to do his shots and then I end up running everywhere wayyy too much really great rallies from Adam too 🙂
@unwishfulthink Жыл бұрын
I sucked at double too. But I have long suspected that for players who know what they are doing, a double team is better than a single player since each player have more time to get in position and set up the next shot. The twins seems to confirm my hunch since they can't beat Adam in singles but were able to win easily as double.

having two people change up the pace constantly, one person can easily do a powerful shot while the other just taps it, also having one person right handed and the other left just seems so OP. even with all Adam's tricks you can't beat two master doubles players.

Adam couldn't capitalize on his huge advantage of playing against 2 because his shots, while tricky, are very long and slow, giving the opponents plenty of time to position themselves, especially with a left-right combination. I usually have a great time jamming up the doubles team with my placements. 😁
@billko8672 жыл бұрын
Actually, it's a huge advantage alternating shots because you have time to recover and are almost never out of position for the incoming shot.
@dubmob1512 жыл бұрын
@@billko867 hitting each return right back to whoever hit it last seems like it'd be the best way to get them crashing into each other 😉 It's just opposite the usual goal in singles to try hitting it away from them, so it goes against normal reaction.
@billko8672 жыл бұрын
@@dubmob151 It happened a few times, but I think that there were way more times when Adam would've had a single player running for their lives back and forth, but instead it was just a routine play because the next player up was in the middle of the field. I've played doubles before and it's pretty easy to keep out of each other's way.
@syzygy67692 жыл бұрын
@@billko867 This is true for Xu Xin who, in Doubles, can more often deploy his all out killer smash which gets him off balance and out of position, because, in case his shot didn't finish off the opponents, he has time to get himself back into the game. But generally, a fast player with clever ball placements can easily control the game against two players who have to do a lot of rushing around.
@billko8672 жыл бұрын
@@syzygy6769 I didn't read that you have actually done this. I don't know what caliber doubles teams you were playing, so I can't comment on that. I still maintain that the single player has a disadvantage, not an advantage, when playing a doubles team of the same caliber. Remember, he beat them each individually.

I think I know the strategy to beat Adam. 1) Don't let him hit a snake (hit it long or really short), and 2) try to take his lobs on the short hop, which gives you a better angle and him less time to react.

Not an expert in this game but I had doubts from the beginning when Adam said he think he might had an advantage because the sisters had to alternate their shots, and I think the result has proven that it wasn’t the case. They were so cohesive and a couple of times when Adam play a counter smash the other sister was already in position to push a fast ball back. Again, sorry if I’m wrong, I hardly play the game! 😅
