This is the Seiko SPB151J1 a.k.a. The Captain Willard. You can use the strap suggestions in this video for the Willard as well as the Seiko Turtle as they're styled very similar. All straps are 20mm.

The waffle strap is the classic for this closely followed by the Tropic. I’d like to have seen the watch with the Tropic Sport but it has a relatively narrow lug to lug to carry this strap well perhaps. Love the stripe NATO style as the colours go so well with the dial (I have this one and both Tropics for another diver) - quite a few brands on the market, my preference currently being the Phoenix branded NATO style straps as they are light weight with a tighter weave. Thanks for sharing.

To get the fully style of this watch, pair with a black rubber dive strap or Nato strap, and be holding an M16-A1.

You made me do it again. Thankfully this video did not force me to drop the cash on a Willard. But it did cause me to drop the cash on an SRPH17, which is the black land Tortoise. I think it looks close enough to the Willard to look similar with many of the straps you show. I have the blue and green/tan land tortoises as well and they are awesome looking watches.

@@strapchoice3001 I think the number of people buying under $500 watches is going to be greater than over. Your watches have not been super expensive though. The Willard is probably about the max I would spend on a watch and I would really have to like the watch. Even if you use an expensive watch I apply your knowledge to my similar watches. I am no KZbin expert though. I am envious of people like you that have cool channels. If you do have more expensive watches, may you could reference similar cheaper watches as examples that look similar when you do the videos. Like you did the Willard, you could have mentioned that the land tortoise would be similar. Khaki field, SNK etc.

A lot of nice straps ,nato for me,single pass as watch is as safe as a double while using surfing or diving. Great to have a brown or a olive,sets watch off nice ,or even a zulu in blue to go with jeans etc.

Probably my favourite watch, wear mine on NATO or MN, just looks wrong on a bracelet and I find rubber/silicone really uncomfortable. Prefer mine to my SM300 TBH....😱 Handy video, thank you 👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you for showing the many watchband options for this watch. I agree that this watch wears them so well. I'm always looking for different looks and feels for my SPB151 and for the rest of my Seiko addictions that I have so my I ask a couple questions that I have problems dealing with? Is the waffle strap soft and comfortable on wrist or like so many rather stiff and after awhile uncomfortable to wear? Is there any problems getting the bigger spring bars through the holes in the watchband? And are the quick release pins in some of the watchbands big enough or do they "slop" around in the watchcase's drilled holes, a problem I have found on some of the Seiko's with their larger and heavier spring bars? It´s a bit of a shame that you can't choose the option for a bracelet or rubber strap when you buy the watch. The green one comes with a strap. But the black one comes with a bracelet. Unfortunately if you want to have the black one on a trap you have to pay more than the green one. Because the bracelet makes it more expensive. And even more because you will have to buy the stap later on if want to ditch the bracelet.

I converted a heimdallr into a 6105. For the longest time I swore it was sac religion to put it on anything other than a chocolate bar strap just like Martin sheen wore. I only recently started messing with different straps. My recent daily driver is the brushed tapered Miltat mesh….
