I got laid off and also retired at 52 and honestly, I wish I’d done it sooner. The 9-to-5 grind always steals your freedom for a paycheck that barely scratches the surface. My advice? If you’re in your late 30s or early 40s, start saving for FIRE now (Financial Independence, Retire Early.) And if you’re in your 50s, invest smartly and break free from relying on your job. Market trends, like the Trump Effect, have made millions for many, including me. Stay focused, stay consistent, and remember financial freedom is within reach if you make it a priority.
@Neil-l7v10 күн бұрын
Exactly My point! The 9 to 5 grind is just not worth it the stress and low payoff. What specific steps did you take to break free?

My wife quit her job at 25 years. It was a lot of work and little appreciation. But she made 6 figures. Started her own company and it was slow at first and a lot more work. I would say working for yourself is high risk in your situation. Look for a Hybrid role and see what turns up. Never know. i'm a sucker for food trucks. But that is a lot of work too.

Please enjoy the ride. God has other plans for you, so please rest up. I haven’t worked in over a year not due to a layoff, but because I quit. Best thing I’ve ever done! And when God ends something, it doesn’t matter how much money you have in the bank. Biggest mistake people do is think they have to have all this money in the bank before they quit a toxic environment. Nope, that’s not the case. Your time was up and now you’ve moved on. May the Lord continue to bless you and take you to places and put you in spaces you’ve never thought you’d see. Amen. 🙏🏽 ❤

Academic Librarian here. Just read up on what a technical librarian in aviation does and saw cataloging was apart of the job description. If you are open to a new career path look into Cataloging Librarians and Metadata Librarian roles. Metadata is more technical and may allow you to work a hybrid schedule. Good Luck with your search. Because so many industries are laying off right now you might want to get back out there soon than later.

Hey my Sista, I don't know you but came across your channel. I listened to your 1st and now 2nd video. Sorry about the layoff… After hearing some of your testimony, the bottom line is you got skills, two degrees, and an audience, and it sounds like a single-parent thing. Regardless if it's true or not, my short story is my mom got really ill, and my father raised three children in the '60s as a Black man. As a 63-year-old Black man, I've seen a lot and experienced it as well, but as a people, we got fight to pass on. We may not have had all the money or connections, but we always strived as a people. Continue to use your resources positively and block out the dumb stuff... The conversation is always different with them... Be blessed and stay strong!

I hope that you get good and steady income soon. These are some crazy times in the job market. Thank goodness for unemployment benefits. It helps. Decompress as best as you can. Now you have the opportunity to build your channel while you are looking to get (hopefully) better money and benefits than you did in your previous work. I noticed that some content creators are doing tour guide (walking) videos in places where they live. I think they are cool because it's a nice way to see cool things in different cities. Money is tight but sightseeing places on video is not a bad alternative when you cash is too low to travel. Wishing you the best going forward.
