i love how gentle of a hand she has but still enough to be supportive and know when to step it back. also love how you let the horse move. no use of harsh bits or extra leather, no crops or spurs. fantastic training and beautiful honest horses😄😄

Holly, you are such a pro trainer. Both horses are so relaxed and BRAVE. You will be going to your next show as "Holly the VETERINARIAN!" And of course, it doesn't hurt to have your Dad as the horses spiritual coach.... LOL!!

Dali has such great movement and rythm even as a 4 year old ! He will probably make an amazing competition horse ( be it showjumping or even dressage)

I love how Khal has such a lovely balanced rhythm throughout, and you sit quietly without over interfering 👌👌

God Dali is such a class looking horse! I remember him being so hairy and thinking oh my I wonder what he'll be like but LOOK AT HIM wow. And as always Khal looking amazing.

Dali trying and getting his flying changes is the cutest thing! Also his counter canter looks so so balanced, you’ve done such a fab job so far Holly you should be proud of yourself!
@andiee41634 жыл бұрын
Your dad is a saint 🤣 If only Dali would realize how much easier life would be if he’d do the back end of the flying changes, I know he can because Ive watched you do it! What a goof
@HollyLenahanSJ4 жыл бұрын
He will start doing clean changes once he gets more balanced and stronger in the canter ☺️ It’s easy to get those long legs muddled 😉
@andiee41634 жыл бұрын
Holly Lenahan oh 100%! It’d just be wonderful if they magically realized how much easier turns and corners would be if they just did it 😂 He doesnt look so big when you ride him! I know both of them are quite tall though, way taller than Id be able to ride 😂 (or ride well, only 5’2” my legs would barely touch their bellies!)

Both boys did you proud - your training techniques are really paying off. They were collected, responsive and thinking about what was being asked of them. Dali could obviously see the 'invisible higher poles" we couldn't see when he first started jumping ☺ - he has talent. He also sorted out the double when his stride was a bit off - as your Dad said "class". Looking forward to what's next.

They both look incredible! You could see even in that video where Dali jumped huge over the first part of the double the first time and managed to get up together to jump the second part he then learned from it and the second time jumped both parts so well! Khal just looks effortless as always :)

Khal is such a character and Dali seems like such a gentle, sweet soul. Such lovely horses. And as always - love your videos because I know they will be fun and informative and without click-baity drama. Win, win, win. Oh, and did I mention your lovely horses? ;)

Honestly I am so freaking impressed by your work with Dali. He is becoming an exceptional horse all kudo’s to you!! He’s so chilled and relaxed and just wow I am so in love with his jump and movement. I think its so nice to see how much a horse can actually learn as a 4yo when everything is just done in such a calm and thoughtful manner, and I’m really a fan of your training methods for young horses. I love using the grids you post in your videos on my younger horse as well!!! Love these videos!

They have both made improvement's since the last time and Dali's confidence is growing more and he seemed to relax a bit more this time, Khal was making some lovely shapes over the fences and I think if you continue with bounce exercises it can improve even more 🐱

Great job Holly with both Khal and Dali. Gymnastics work does so much for a horse. It helps them learn where their feet and body are, it help them learn how to listen to the aids better. Overall, I find gymnastic grids a great exercise also to help build confidence and strength both in the hind end and the back especially, as it helps them use everything. Great job!! Best Regards from Ontario, Canada, Jenn.

Dali had come such on long way from being a scruffy 3 years old looking a little odd to this handsome handsome horse. I’m super impressed with him and you’re lucky there’s an ocean between us, otherwise I would have come and steal him from you!!! Don’t worry about being repetitive, your schooling/show vlogs are always very entertaining. I would love to see how they improved with dressage too, maybe do another online dressage class? I know it’s not your primary discipline, but still dressage is the foundation of all riding ;)

Hi fellow equestrians, I’ve been riding for about four years and have jumped up to 3 feet and for a while I did 2 feet pretty consistently, but after a few falls I’ve only been doing cross rails and it’s getting a little frustrating as I see others progress past me and it feels like I’m stuck and will never get better. I feel confident in jumping higher because we’ve really been working on my position and flatwork and I really want to progress more. I also want to show in the future and possibly lease a horse, but I feel like these are impossible to achieve as my trainer won’t let me go higher than a cross rail. I also used to be a working student at my barn before quarantine and my parents and I decided to stay home a few weeks before my barn closed, which meant I missed work and riding, which probably caused the trainers trouble because they didn’t have enough people working the times I was supposed to be there, and I’m worried they won’t trust me again. Now the barn is gradually opening back up again but there’s another girl helping out at the times I usually help, so I don’t know if I’ll get to be a working student anymore, and I also don’t know if the hours that I have worked will still count... I know I probably need to talk to my trainer and the manager about this but I don’t really know how to approach it, especially considering the current situation. Any suggestions would help! Thank you for reading through this!
