My 3 yr old is autistic, her 1 yr anniversary (diagnosis) is next month & I can't believe how much has changed! It warms my heart to know she is finally happy! 💕 As a mom that's all we want for our children. My toddler is the same way, she is non verbal but Lord knows she has soooo much to say! She knows exactly how to tell us what she wants & understands more than we think. Lol This is Aria's world & we're just living in it! 🤣🤣

Wow! Penelope has made huge progress! She’s like a completely different child than I remember. I know the kids won’t be on as much but I would love to see some clips of her talking & playing. Amazing!!! 🤩

I’m considered blind, and I’m also autistic. I don’t think in words. Most people apparently hear/see their thoughts in words when they are thinking them. I think in pictures. Even though I have been visually impaired my whole life. Maybe this could help her to connect words with pictures. Like, show her pictures of herself up close, and say her name. Not sure, but this used to help me a lot with understanding.

How many children do you have with Autism and what are their ages. My granddaughter is almost 3 and she is autistic. She is starting to pickup some words her mom bought Gemini and she watches it and picks of words. She also uses a IPad and does preschool program on ABC mouse. She loves things with music and makes everyone dance with her. She grabs your hand and takes you where she wants you.

I wanted to share what has been working for my daughter(6 years old). I have been giving her micro dose of bacopa powder in tea at nights and a micro dose of L theanine in water in the mornings before school. Once a week, I give her fenugreek tea( boiled seeds) to help gut issues. Verbally improved, behavior improved tremendously in just 5 days. Check with doctor and try this. I guarantee significant improvement. thank me later.

So exciting. I have been visually impaired and now legally blind kids and adults learn to do things despite not being able to see it might just take some more time. Have you ever thought that since she couldn't really see the food that is what caused the issues. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what level kids are on as long as their happy. So glad to hear you get to experience the girly stuff with her

And so relatable to my 2 year old boy, he has the same vision impairment and sensory preferences, he's progressing very similar too 😊 except for sensory issues regarding food, he is still not chewing or feeding himself and still non verbal. But like that I'm focusing more on his progression everywhere else and he is super affectionate too😊 Thanks for sharing your tips one wearing the glasses. Great update! So wonderful to hear all the great updates on Penelope. Our daughter has APD and VPD so I understand a great deal how the small things matter so much. One thing I would check into is Vision Therapy we found out our daughter's eyes were not working together, this needs to be looked at by an Optometrist.

Nellie and my Elliot have so much in common! Even down to the 6 baths a day 😂 He is in bifocals and has strabismus as well. Have you ever tried stay puts for her glasses? I couldn't tell if you had them. They were a game changer when Elliot was taking his glasses off a lot. Especially with the bifocals it's helpful to keep them in place so they can use them easily. It seemed like whenever my son was frustrated with them slipping or moving he would just take them off. Especially since he doesn't quite have the fine motor skills to put them back on or adjust them back then. The stay puts were so helpful that I used to keep extras in my diaper bag and used to give them out to random parents who's kids glasses were slipping off their face. Toddlers are so busy keeping their glasses in place on their face is so hard! Glad to hear all her great updates! I'm so glad you are still doing some educational stuff because it really is helpful!!!

Aww! Love this video! Glad she is getting better at vocalization! I think she is coming along really well. She is so smart. She likes to sing too. That’s good. I know one family on KZbin (can’t remember the name) that the girl on there is really good at singing. She is visually impaired too. I think she’s autistic too. It’s an adopted family so you may know what family it is. She’s commented on here before. And she’s been on SBSK Kids channel. Anyway, thanks for sharing about Penelope! God bless you!

When y’all got Feeding Therapy was it from OT or Speech, or is it an independent feeding therapist? And was there something that helped change the feeding or was it like a natural developmental milestone that she caught up with? Our feeding therapy has been very unsuccessful, (we get it through OT) my son still doesn’t eat any food and is turning 4, all of his nutrition from a pediasure, water, an lactose free milk mixture in a baby bottle. I am not really sure what else we can do that we aren’t already doing at this point and that is by far one of the most stressful parts of all this for us
@OurLANDingCrew83 жыл бұрын
Speech usually does feeding therapy if they are unable to physically eat. OT usually handles picky eating. :)

Such relief when I hear that kids are getting ABA. The autistic community can be so toxic to therapy and parenting. Kids get left behind because of some of the toxic opinions and shaming in those communities.
@SG317923 жыл бұрын
For real. My sister is a BCBA. She has acknowledged that ABA has historically had many ethical issues, but it is much improved today, especially if you find a team that’s a good fit.

@@OurLANDingCrew8 i’m really curious how do they do that. I am about a year younger than you and I’ve been legally blind almost since birth no idea how they know that but was diagnosed less than a year old. I understand if you don’t want or cannot record any of those appointments but I just want to say that I really appreciate all of the information that you share.
