Happy 1st year Anniversary! Love your videos because they are genuine and full of great information. We have 5 kids, but only two left at home now, so we're selling everything and hitting the road in the next few months. Your videos are so helpful for us in getting ready for this adventure and new lifestyle. Our two youngest boys, 15 and 12 are excited to live like gypsies for a while, too. Here's to your next year of fun! *cheers*

Just starting to view and absorb all your videos... Your lifestyle is something my husband and myself are working towards... He will be retiring before you can blink and we just recently upgraded to a large toyhauler to live in.. At the time we are just taking here and there to get the feel of the new trailer to see if it fits us... I have concerns about whether we purchased to large ( 44 ft) to travel in but it works now with all the grandkids onboard...Anyway, wish you many more yrs. of road travel and looking forward to watching to other videos you have posted.

Great video. I am newly retired and have been downsizing for the past 10 years hoping to check things off on my bucket list. Am hoping to take a year to stay in Spain or Portugal (still researching) and then plan on returning to buy a 24 ft travel trailer. Your post was great, full of great advise and it sounds like your travel plans are similar to mine but in reverse. I plan to start in the NE first but I am from east of the Mississippi. Happy travels and I will be following you. Just stumbled on your tube. Thanks so much!

Great video guys, and congratulations, whoo hoo!!! I'm trying (still) to convince DW to at least try part-timing. She still insists on having a S&B home. Dreams- {{poof}}. Enjoy!!
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 9 жыл бұрын
RxMixer Thanks so much! Ask your DW what it is about a S&B home that is the most important to her? Sometimes you can create that in your RV... but still, understand the need for 'security' of many. It's quite common for the husbands to want to hit the road and the wife is least enthusiastic, we see it a lot... but of the ones we know that HAVE hit the road, they end up loving it and as long as they get to go home and visit family and friends they are happy. Far less housework! LOL We women are nesters.... that's why it was important for Marc to let me decorate the RV the way I wanted, it was my way of nesting... I still do it, even a year later! Ha!

"Happy Anniversary" As new subscribers, we have enjoyed your videos & have learned a lot! We are researching to do this part time. Are there many restrictions in parks for a 40 - 45 ft rv? Thanks so much for all the great videos & again "happy anniversary"
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 9 жыл бұрын
Snowbirds Thank you! Glad you are enjoying... many parks can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet but the most common size we see is probably 40 feet. Some people can experience more limitations with 43-45... but there are still plenty of options.... more limiting in state, national parks etc. Pull through sites are going to be your best bet - we are in one now in Ohio and it's huge!

Thank you all for your vids and blog post! My wife and I are thinking of selling our home in Pa. and hitting the road. Katie is a RN and we are looking into travailing nursing for her.I no longer work (as of now) because of a work injury that left me with rods in my back. This is very scary for us, We have worked so hard for our Log home we have always wanted.....but somehow is not satisfying...if you know what I mean? Just a big thanks for all the info you have given to us and God Bless as you travel! Love your Vids!! Dave & Katie

+indianmotorcycle101 Hi guys! Thanks for your kind note. Interesting you find yourselves feeling unsatisfied by your log home after working so hard for it... sounds like a new life of travel is calling you? I imagine getting work as a traveling RN would be a great opportunity! Sorry to hear of your injury Dave, but it's great how you guys are exploring all kinds of new possibilities for your life and more rich experiences. We are always happy to hear that our videos and blog posts are helping others.... it's not too long ago we were in "research/exploring" mode too, so we enjoy sharing what we would have liked to know about and learn before hitting the road to answer some of our (many) questions! Enjoy the journey, it's pretty cool having new and exciting places on your doorstep every other week or month! Happy trails :) Julie & Marc

+RVLove Don't get me wrong.. we love our home, and think its great! It's just back in Feb of this year my father past away and as we look at our lives we just think the must be more! Our faith is a big part of our lives but we work so hard to hold onto things that really dont mean much. Katie just talked to 3 traveling nurse placement centers today and found out she would make over 25,000 more a year doing this then where she is at now. However, we are moving with caution! Again Thanks for everything you guys are doing! It just gave us a new outlook on life! Cant wait for the next vid or post!

I watched your first video, did you ever find out what was going on with the jacks? ......Steve
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 8 жыл бұрын
We had Tiffin take a look and they couldn't find anything, maybe the jacks didn't like being off level. Every now and then one gets a bit stuck and Marc has to push it up but we've never had that issue of all 4 not wanting to retract since that time in Lake Havasu. RVs can be a little temperamental at times, fortunately ours isn't too bad though and we've come to get to 'know' the occasional idiosyncrasy and learn how to handle it.

I just read the thousand trail info and my understanding is a married couple pay once but because my adult daughter and i rv together we have to pay for two. Also the site said a max of 14 consecutive days at one resot n if u stay for more than 4 nights in a row you cant stay in any resort for a week, so you guys moved every 3 days? Does not sound like a great deal.
@Rvlove
@Rvlove 8 жыл бұрын
You mean you and your daughter travel in the same RV together? Or in 2 RVs? If in one RV then only one of you needs a membership to make reservations. We did 14 in, 7 out and once tried moving every 4 days but too fast for us as we work. Not quite sure why you think it isn't a great deal though when as an example if you fulltime you can spend 2/3 of a year in a TT campground with hookups for a total of just $545 a year, theroetically that would cost only $2.25 a night in TT and just pay for the 7 days out of the system after each 14 day block in the system. I don't know any other option that comes close to those prices. We just filmed a couple of videos on the weekend that will explain more soon so keep an eye out for them.

We camp host together in one RV so in exchange for some volunteer work we get a camp site for free. If we could stay for longer periods of time we would do it but having to move every 14/7 days just doesnt give us the amount of time per area to see everything. Also the number of moves plus the 20 only sites are just too limited. If the deal was for 40 areas with more than 14 day limit we might consider it. I think we will stick with the hosting and WOOFing sites. I do appeciate the information and the time you took to respond to my questions. Stay safe n have fun!

HI Yvonne, you're in luck. I happened to write a blog post about how to get 2 zones for the price of one from TT so that would give you around 40 campgrounds (for the price of 20) here it is: www.rvlove.com/2016/03/28/get-the-best-deal-on-a-thousand-trails-bogo-zone-pass Plus, I wrote another on how to get a 21 day park 2 park (no days out of the system) membership upgrade for half price (compared to buying one new from the company). This option may give you more flexibility. It's worth a read to see if it might work for you. Make a coffee or pour a glass of wine as its a long post BUT it's by far our most popular... includes a lot of useful info that explains the different scenarios and costings quite thoroughly. I personally know of hundreds of people who have taken up this option and saved several thousand dollars. www.rvlove.com/2015/01/28/thousand-trails-membership-upgrades/ Good luck!

Do you need to have a certain type of license to drive that motorhome? I know that for personal use that CDL's aren't usually needed but do you need to have one if you have a tow behind vehicle?

+M CAP Not this one - ours is only 36 feet. But in some states, I believe larger coaches (43 or 45' I believe) special licenses are needed in some states eg. Texas - best to check the laws for states.. but for our size, no problem... we can get out of a MINI and start driving a 36' coach! Crazy huh? But true :)

That's good to know, I really enjoy your videos. I'm planning on buying a coach in the near future, watching your videos has been very helpful especially since you guys are able to experience and share your knowledge first hand!

+M CAP Glad to hear that. We've learned a lot and still learning... we enjoy sharing as we still remember well what it's like to be a newbie, it can be overwhelming, but it's also fun.
