Thank Michael for such a PRACTICAL video. What I love the most are the sections regarding the bloopers, Phones, "Bluetooth, & Interference", and "Record audio of 2 people max".

This is awesome, thank you for all this! I am starting to film a reality TV show for my boyfriend's parents clothing store in Massachusetts. There is a great community and a lot of history to capture, and I'm looking forward to putting it together for them!

Great tips, Preparation is one of the most important step in production that will affect deeply your shoot if you don't attend to it well.

This information is extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to make this and for being so thorough. Where did you learn all this?
@MichaelDeVowe3 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear! Mostly learn by doing, and by KZbin! I started photography when I was 13.

this is insightful. Can you tell me your process for culling footage?
@MichaelDeVowe8 ай бұрын
After backup, I go through the clips before importing into Davinci Resolve. I start with the last take from each scene as it's most likely to be a keeper. Then I work backwards to keep one to three takes of that scene. Then, on to the next. Most b-roll I leave as-is. Hope that helps.

Which lens would you recommend to show reality footage with the Sony ev z10. Currently I have a Sony 11mm 1.4 but I don’t really see any examples online other than cinema short films most of which are in slo mo.

Hey, im getting research for my own reality TV show and I thought it would be smart to ask you, about how much raw footage do you record in process of making your show and about how long should it take to edit if I have a semi busy schedule.
@MichaelDeVowe10 ай бұрын
Depending on the format (talking head, VO, broll w/music, etc.), expect to record 3-6 hours in a full day (could be more, could be much less), and at least 3-5 full days in post if you're doing it yourself.

hello Im currently in school for digital film making and I have all equipment from B&H and I want to start me a reality tv show but I have not got pass the setup I'm at the los angles film school online but I'm. needing guidance to build the camera first , I have lighting I have everything I need but I don't know how to do my setup I'm in a small apartment for the moment could you please help me please.

Big reality TV shows typically have huge overhead lighting. If you're doing run-and-gun docudrama work like in this video, then it's all about knowing your equipment and making it work in most situations. You won't really have time to "set up" any lighting. The biggest question I would have for you is - how will you make money at this, or is it simply a hobby?

What bluetooth receiver are you using and does it lag?
@MichaelDeVowe Жыл бұрын
I'm using this one amzn.to/3OjM4PD and it does lag a bit (half a second or so). I imagine the 5.2 version (paired with 5.2 bluetooth earbuds) would have very little to no lag.
