I'm getting some Geosesarma for my 500L paludarium this week hopefully. I had some before and had them breeding, loads of little crabs running around. Wish I'd bothered to raise them but at the time I was moving house and breaking down loads of tanks. When I get my Vampire and Red Devils in, I'll have to make a video. The shipping problem is quite interesting though, I work at an aquatic store and do a lot of the ordering, never really have I had problems in shipping Geosesarma to our store, certainly never had any turn up dead as much as I can remember, and we get them in directly from Indonesian breeders sometimes. The ones I've ordered for me are from a UK wholesaler this time though. Also, interestingly enough, I had my previous Geosesarma in a setup with Mourning geckos, they were also with fire bellied toads, tree frogs and musk turtles, never did any of the inhabitants bother each other either.

Awesome! Sounds like a massive tank, if you’re in the UK that means you have way more available species than us. You should look at Geosesarma sp dare devil, very cool looking. As for making a video you should definitely do that! Theres not enough content on these guys as is. I also have tons of babies, they’re everywhere…

Nice looking tank! Your crabs are going to love it! Sadly they really don't ship very well. From everything I've seen its like a 50% survival rate. Which sucks for the poor things :(

Thank you, it does suck. I really didn’t want to ship them but my LFS kind of sucks and every time they get vampire crabs they’re unhealthy and have really bad coloration. I just got a response from Aquatic Arts so I’ll see what happens. Btw, subbed to your channel, you have some awesome tanks!

I've found that vampire crabs ship extremely poorly and have high mortality in the weeks afterwards. The best bet is either purchasing from a local store. Or have the adults survive long enough to reproduce, then raise the babies, which end up much hardier.

I don’t really trust my lfs😂

@@kenjiro2676 yeah, thankfully they left behind many babies, I think I even saw one today that has gained some color

My paludarium water is 30cm deep will they survive .
@Plants-and-Ts Жыл бұрын
It is not ideal for them, you could just lower the water level, but they will probably be fine
@strawberry_milk97712 жыл бұрын
be careful of the babies bc crabs can eat them very easily

I assume you mean the geckos? I plan on moving them to a new tank of their own eventually
