@@PetCareNation They breed very easily. You will see them soon 😊 The most important tip I can give is to remove the babies or the adults as soon as you see babies. (I remove the adults it's easier) They eat the young very quickly and the babies take about 9 months to reach full size so plenty of time to be food! This tank is perfect for them! And looks escape proof! They are master escapers!

@@IndoorEcosystem ohh thank you so much for the tip. You made my day. I am first time keeping Vampire Crabs and I want to provide them best conditions. Btw. What about food? What is your weekly food routine? I give them frozen blood worms, food for shrimps/fish.

@@PetCareNation No problem :) I feed mine all sorts of random things. They will eat anything. Any sort of fish or shrimp food works well. Their favourite type I've found are nano fish granules. Otherwise feed them boiled veg like carrot cabbage zucchini lettuce pumpkin broccoli potato etc. I have heard beetroot is good for colour but I haven't tried that one yet so not 100% sure if they like it. Blood worms are great too and even live crickets are good. I feed mine every day but I have a truck load in there.

I’ve never owned a crab. And really have no plans to but I sure did find this interesting. They sure are cute little critters. Very colorful. If I were younger, I’d do it. I’m just too old to mess with them. Doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy others though. Tfs! ❤️💜💚

Are vampire crabs anything like the Red Clawed Crab? I have a Red Clawed Crab with like 20% land and 80 water. Can a canopied crab survive in it ? Also will it fight with my Red Clawed Crab?

Do not mix different crabs they will kill eachother. You can’t even keep two different colored vampire crabs together. Vampire crabs need 80% land 20% Water. While it’s the exact opposite for red claw crabs. Red claw crabs live better lives in brackish water while vampires like strictly in freshwater. Red claw crabs tend to tear up and destroy plants while vampires nibble in them but don’t ruin them. Also red claw crabs do better with some kind of uvb lamp while vampire crabs dont need seem to need it. Their care can be similar but it’s different enough that they are incompatible

Filter maintenance will be really annoying, the crabs actually DO eat living plants and they like to dig in soil, which they cant in this

No you can’t, any frog small enough to live with them will be eaten and the rest are big enough to eat the crabs plus they have different care requirements
