Suhr make good guitars. They also support their products after the sale as well. I've had issues on two Suhr guitars that required them to go back to the factory (one where the neck warped and the other that didn't have properly leveled frets). They fixed both of them for free.

I’ve owned about 15 or so Suhr over the years. All 2nd hand. They’ve offered to resolve issues for free for me too. Issues not caused by the company. They’re wholesome dudes.

Great video. Thank you for making the effort. I’ve been seriously considering buying a Suhr since my faith in Fender has slowly been waning to the point that there’s very little left now. Your video has helped push me over the edge towards getting the Suhr. I’ve been playing for 38 years and am convincing myself I deserve it. 😂. Again…I really enjoyed this video and am following you now.

Wow what a great video bud! Very helpful, and a lot of comparisons from all price points. I have been into a kind of similar journey as you, have tried many different guitars. On the Strat - Superstrat style guitars, I had a Premium Ibanez AZ HSS which was great. Then went to a Suhr HSS, same as yours. Wow Suhrs are very very good. With the Suhr I was expecting to get a strat vintage tone style, but the Suhr didn't sound or feel at all like a regular strat. Which is good, it is its own animal, but I was leaning for something else at that point. I also had an Ibanez AZ2204N Prestige, was great as well. Love the Az very much. Moved it own cause it felt redundant at the moment, and was still wanted to sound like vintage strat hehe sounded good but not what I was expecting on the single tones and had a good vintage strat already. I tried once one of the cheaper AZES, and surprised that it soudned as good. I did notice the difference in quality and build vs the Prestige and Indo, but still what a solid guitar for that price point. I was like craving again early this year for an HSS versatile guitar. Now my expectations on what you get with this style of guitars was on point and grabbed a Nick Johnston Schecter import model. Wow what a great guitar. If you like Suhrs then Im sure you will like the Schecter. And the schecter didnt give me the vibe of a guitar that is cutting costs in the build and details, only maybe the pickups that were good maybe not as refined, but what a great guitar and I think unbeatble at that price. Then by chance I came across a Schecter Nick Johnston Schecter USA model. Was a funny story, the seller came into my house and he left the guitar here for a couple of days hehe, first time I met him. And the guitar growed on me a lot. Is not miles better than the import model, it is indeed better quality, everything is more tight, just like Suhrs or PRS, more perfect. Plus the wenge neck is the most gorgeous and nice feeling neck Ive ever had, love it so much. The pickups liked them more, I think is the superstart syle guitar closests in tones as a vintage strat. Not exactly like them, but has been my favorite from all the HSS guitars ive had so far. And the neck shape and size is perfect as well, is a bit wider and thicker than the import model. The import felt fine, but I prefer chunkier necks and this one for me is perfect. I would say is like as thick as the suhr, but since its a bit wider feels a bit chunkier and fuller on the hand whichk I prefer. the neck shape was for me the reason I wanted to get this one. This Schecter has become my number 1. But Suhrs are amazing, I still want to grab at some point a Suhr Alt T in green. What a cool guitar. Awesome video!!

Great video. I saw Scott Henderson last year, and the lady he was playing with said she felt that beneath Custom Shop level, Fender's quality control wasn't great -unlike Suhr. Glad you are enjoying yours. You've inspired me to save up for one.

Thanks! Yes have fender custom shops, nash , luxxtones and suhr's all are great. I got the classic s vintage le, love it....luxxtone's are my hot rod favorites suhr's are my vintage type favs. Had a Ibanes rg550 and a few charvels in the 80's switched to a Jackson usa soloist and never looked back during that time but it was classic and hard rock back then. A Suhr is a fine guitar.

Suhr just released their new in house trem that replaces the go to 510 they have used. I’m replacing all mine with the new Suhr trem. You should check it out. It’s a drop in replacement, and a solid upgrade.

Hi Hans, I recently got the Ibanez AZES40, I'm wondering if you could make a video on your guitar setup? Such as relief, string height and everything. I can't quite get it right and it would be helpful to see how you play, on any guitar not just the Ibanez. Thanks!

Hi Tony, Congrats on your new Ibanez AZES40. When I set up my guitars, I usually follow factory specs and adjust accordingly. I find that as a good starting point and I make necessary adjustments as I spend more time with the instrument. For my preference, I aim for lowest action possible without fretting out. Hope that helps!

Any guitar can get fret sprout. It is cause by the wood shrining slightly due to changes in humidity. If you live where it gets dry in the winter it will probably happen. It is easy to fix yourself or by a luthier. After you deal with it you are usually done for the life of the guitar.

Hi , Hans sorry to say that fret sprout 🌱 is a factor of every guitar ever made, that are constructed of metal and timber. To some degree Temperature and environmental changes will alter the dimensions of the materials. Just like railway 🚂 lines in summer 🌞🌞⛱️ or winter ☃️❄️. As a player you need to become more mechanically and electrically minded. And tweak your insruments yourself for maximum playability. You could use a leveling beam to take the fret edge's down with 400 - 600 grit emery/sand paper. It will also make you more confident and proficient in your playing . Good luck, Best Regards. John.
