Picked mine up for £12.5k when the difference to the sp was £4k (the sp is discounted as well now). I couldn't justify the cost difference at the time especially as the suspension is fully adjustable. Now I've spent a little time setting it up for the roads I ride it's pretty good. I'd suggest you do a little research on setting up suspension and have a fiddle. Doesn't cost a thing and can make a big difference to your comfort and enjoyment. Probably the best bike I've owned and I've had a few. The sound and instant grunt are my favourite things and the fact the bike doesn't mind being ridden leisurely when you want/need to calm things down. It's so easy to live with but engaging at the same time. Love it. It may not be the best at this or the best of that but as a whole is hard to beat. (It has the best sound though ;-).

Exactly the reason I got mine. I was sick and tired of my bikes always on the verge of falling apart, so I made the adult decision to get Yamaha. Sure, some bikes have more power on paper, but in reality these things are manic when you grab it by the scruff. And like you said, super comfy to run errands on.

I had two Speed Triple (1050s) and a Super Duke (3.0), never had an issue with them, with my new MT10, only three months old, it did not start. The dealer changed the spark plugs and now it seems to run fine again.

Warped disc or wheel bearing. Just my guess. I had a similar issue with a gsxr with high miles on it.

Great down to earth vids. I like your bar-end mirrors, where did you purchase those and what make are they? I dropped the front suspension by 5mm (two rings showing) to put more weight on the front, this improved the feel of the front end and the braking. Put in EBC sintered pads and adjusted the standard brake lever so that the pushrod is in line with the master cylinder (one notch back from full out). Quick question, I saw you found out that upon disconnecting the exup valve wires it remains in the closed position not open, so would you say then that your first ride impression of it was perhaps moreso placebo of thinking it was louder than it really was? If that makes sense
