Hi! Nice episode! Maybe, going further in the topic of food, you will show how many calories different specific players eat on an ordinary day in life / training? This is very interesting to me. I assume not only me😁

@Ironrav2 жыл бұрын
The range of 7500 to 10000 calories is fairly accurate. In all the Ironman events that I've done, I was well within that level of calorie burn. And the difference between finish times vs calories spent was very similar for me.

I have a better challenge for you guys. A regular gel is 100 calories. So, to eat 10 000 calories you need to consume 100 gels. Do it in 10-12 hours. Let's say you try to ingest 1 gel every 6 min. (and only because I care about you, we will add that you can drink as much water as you want during the day. And, because I care about you, let me advice you against choosing gels that contain cafeine !) Have fun ! (It is like the Centurion (you know, that student thing done with beer... but kind of an athlete's version...)

Perhaps it’s wise that the next video actually shows what foods you should eat, when training for an ironman. The quantity of burned calories is there but anyone new or unsure of diet, would probably mimic this video. Not the best content to post for supposed athletes.

I wondered if there was a chance to drink more calories... Eat chocolates and jelly babies... It would be really interesting if you would look at the nutrition in and after races as well. Kona 2019 was pathetic: french fries and pizza after the finish line, and rationing ice creams - I think they wanted to give you half each at one point. (I understand the field may have been faster than normal, but I beat a fair few and there was nothing to refuel at the finish.) Challenge Cape Town 2019 - they were sponsored by Pepsi max - I mean SUGAR FREE!!! I don't know how these event organisers can take your entry fee and not budget for 2l soda in the race, and 500ml at the finish. (I won't even talk about the Jailbreak triathlon which ran out of fluids before folk finished... and it was 40C! Someone organised a hosepipe for us to drink from...)

I'd prefer healthy eating like a real Ironman would do😐
@mathieunorry2 жыл бұрын
Why are all the calories coming from junk food ? Its ironic that the 'food' included here includes a dry up, KFC, mac Donald's and pizzas. I'd argue the two guys are feeling awful in part because of the trans fats, sugar, salt and preservatives in this highly processed junk food. A silly idea for a video.
@Ivan_Nano2 жыл бұрын
Was thinking the same. Made me sad.
@tradestone1002 жыл бұрын
I think it is because is easier. More calories per weight and, off course, more appealing, making it easier to want more (something important as you can see in the video)
@markthrelfall35772 жыл бұрын
As always, thanks for your input Mathieu. It’s just meant to be fun, as many people seem to have taken it. Also there are typically far more calories in these types of foods, whilst still being appealing

seems an odd choice to unsub from a triathlon channel because of clickbait on a food challenge video that's simply meant to be a bit of fun. The point of the video is to get across the huge amount of calories an iron man burns and they accomplished that.
@jensmith37192 жыл бұрын
@@corinbertrand yes some folk can take life too seriously, i wouldnt normally watch a gorge fest as overeating isnt that attractive to watch, but as you say it was looking at the enormous amount of energy expended in a triathlon in a fun way, and they ate nicely, not stuffing enormous amounts of food in to beat some time challenge which for me is pretty gross in a western world riddled with obesity, hmm, perhaps its me starting to take life to seriously !!! anyway i like this channel and these guys,
