The port matching helps cut down on edges heating up. The edges like to catch heat and will glow. Plus as you said better flow. So happy for Daiki! Apologies if I spelled it wrong.

The piston tops are hard anodized.... It's an electro chemical surface treatment that actually bonds with and hardens oxides in the aluminum material itself.... it's not a coating. It's typically used on the crown and top ring land as it increases wear resistance. I hope Daiki has a great season with his new engine. That steak dinner... some great food over there. I sure miss the few months I was deployed to Oki in 96.

i loved seeing someone else do what i always do which is GASKET MATCHING. i do that for intake and exhaust manifolds. i also DE-BURR everything i can and smooth out the oil passage transitions for better oil flow back to the pan.

sam what's the reason for tapping the valves and the rotating ?
@foamdataservices
@foamdataservices 2 ай бұрын
When the valve is working it will tap down onto the seat like that, if you tap every so often it puts the grit back into where you are lapping, the rotation is needed because you won’t make a full rotation with your hand movement, so you want an even grind of the seat you have to rotate the valve a bit every few turns of your hands.
