This man is flying in his UltraLite to show what 10,000 feet looks like. I wanted to know because I love American Bald Eagles fly at. The eagle flys at 30 MPH and they can travel up to 125 miles a day. This is an awesome video I love it. Thank you for sharing.

Man that thing looks awesome. I love motorcycling but that must be a hell of a thrill. Looked real cold up there. Thanks for the video, now I really have to go up in a small plane.

This is just magnificent! How much for one of those trike's (if that is what they are called)? Also curious how you can be brave enough to go up in one without a parachute/sufficient buckles (maybe you had?)

Outstanding effort well done!!! Sky looks beautiful like that, only imagine what it felt like, highest I've been is about 4500ft in a quik!!!! Will go higher, again well done !

Fantastic....I wonder what engine you have fitted and how long did it take to get up there...bit difficult to read your altimeter....did you cut the motor on the way down or just let it idle......been hoping to do this for a while in my flex. Nick.

i had no idea you could go so high on those, this video was extraordinary. i almost felt scared for you up that high on that thing, although i'm sure you know what you're doing. if only da vinci and so many other lived to see personal man made flight like this. if your engine goes out, can you glide in from that high, or do you carry a parachute. loved how you said forgot my jacket like it was no big deal you do this sort of thing all the time haha

You are just awesome. I just hope that at some point I will fly one of these machines. Right now I am trying to recreate the e-spyder, an electric ultralight. And I have a couple of questions. 1. What is the rpm that the engine has to have in order to take off. And, do I need a license to fly one of these thing at altitudes below 100 feet?

WOW UNBELIEVABLE, THATS SO COOL. one question though, if your engine stopped working, would you be able to glide back down?
@mburdge3911 жыл бұрын
Hi! Crashing into a plane is not really a concern, although you do have to scan the sky while flying. Legally I am supposed to avoid the clouds per FAR103 regs, plus I really don't want to get water in the carb. Thanks for watching!
@user-sd7qt3hy8l11 жыл бұрын
Is there ever a moment when you're up there when you are thinking "Holy hell I am high"...I would get paranoid about engine failure and plummeting to the Earth, bro.
@mburdge3911 жыл бұрын
It is an airspeed indicator. The difference between the static pressure and the pressure of the air rushing into the opening in the bottom of the tube causes the red indicator disc to rise, since the upward pressure in the tube is greater than the weight of the disc.

Hey! Thanks! Yes I could glide in if the engine quit. There was also a ballistic recovery chute I could deploy if the shit really hit the fan! That was my first and only time going up to 10,000ft. I would typically fly around 800-2000ft.

Honestly not sure. I know people track their flights using google maps so I assume it does. I just used it for the GPS, elevation, & ground speed. The difference between gound speed and air speed would let me know wind speed and direction.

Good try! However how did you deal with the problem of a possible meeting with another aircraft that would fly at that height, at the same time and the same area? Did you contact the nearest airport via vhf?
@flyingwithchristina9 жыл бұрын
+Ιωσήφ Παπαδόπουλος In the United States, anything over 18,000 is automatic IFR (Instrument flight rules, where you have to contact the airport and file a flight plan and the airport keeps you seperated). Anything under is VFR (visual flight rules) if the weather is clear and visual... so in an ultralight you can go up to 18,000, as long as you stay out of the clouds, and he didn't go that high... though I have no idea why you would want to go up that high. Not sure what altitude hypoxia can set in from thin air... also another consideration... I'll probably do the same thing in my ultralight when I get it flying, but only for bragging rights and to say I did it... just to see how high I can go... IMHO, you got to have big brassy balls to do shit like this... its a long way down... thought it don't really matter... 100 feet drop will kill you just as sure as a 10,000 feet drop will... I guess its psychological. I gurantee tho if a jet liner passes him, the pilot is nudging his co-pilot to wake up and "take a look at this shit!" Not something they would see everyday... maybe once in a lifetime... that high. If I were to do this.. I'd wear one of those thermal hunting full body suits.. lover r regular clothes.... double socks... with a face ski mask and gloves... not to mention a helmet... you have no idea what the atmosphere is going to do or turn on you suddenly by the time you get down...

Great video, about the best I've seen , clear, sharp images. Just a tad too high( by 8000 feet...lol) for my taste.. I dunno , I just feel if I fell out of the sky at 2000 feet it wouldn't hurt as much as at 10000...
