This is beautiful. Unlike other documentaries of the time that were forced and preachy, the message in this short is heartfelt, and shows genuine love and acceptance for all kids, something rare for the time.

I grew up and played at that same park in Boyle Heights in the late 70’s, wonderful memories. Although the foundation was long gone they still had activities for kids, weekend trips, camping, swimming, basketball clubs .

Grew up in the neighborhood and spent almost every summer day swimming in the pool. Cost a dime to get in. Took a class in the hobby room and my sister and I made little stuffed cats. The foundation was great. We had little money growing up.

I'm totally impressed by the commitment that Lou Costello made to help kids learn how to swim the story is I guess he lost his own son tragically when he drowned in the home pool at one year old

Great film, sad to say the next generation of hippies has led to the mess where in now.
