It’s OK bud. It happens the first week of me having my own truck. I ran over one of those big yellow concrete pylons too and destroyed the tandems on the trailer. Is that the worst mistake you making in your career it’s not that bad at all, dude.

Hang in there bro, Congratulations on your upgrade. The simulator has get out and look, plus you can see a top down view of the truck. They know you can drive the truck and have had tnt training so the simulator is not is easy. You got this. You did a swift move on that pole 😂. I can’t wait to see you get upgrade.

Top down view? That's actually really awesome. And get out and look is good. Didn't know that it could do that. Thank you! That puts my mind at ease.

When I was training drivers I had a rule student never got off the interstate with out me in the jump seat!
@LifeAccording2Logan4 ай бұрын
That's a good rule of thumb!

This is the problem with team driving in place of training. You can’t train a driver from the bunk, and you can’t be trained while in the bunk. If your trainer had been in the passenger seat, on duty, this wouldn’t have happened.
@LifeAccording2Logan4 ай бұрын
I hear you there. In this case, it's truly my fault. I knew better and messed up big time. Huge lesson learned.

Unfortunately trainer is only be in the passenger seat in the first two weeks then after he/she have to be in the bunk
@MidlifeTrucker-ThomBell4 ай бұрын
@@robertrortiz6305I went to a different carrier for my training. My trainer was in the passenger seat if I was driving and I was in the passenger seat on the rare occasions that he drove. We both got paid our full rate for every mile the truck moved. That’s training, not team driving. When the trainer is asleep, that guy in the driver seat is a co-driver not a trainee. You cannot train from the bunk.

They don't send people home that can't back on the simulator. They may have you back on the pad

I was able to back on the simulator thankfully. It did make me a little dizzy though.

If your trainer is still hitting things, even bumping them he probably shouldn’t be training, the only thing you should be bumping is docks. For him to say that is crazy!
@LifeAccording2Logan4 ай бұрын
He's a very good trainer and yes he's bumping the docs, not going around hitting things necessarily. Prolly was just trying to help me feel better in the moment. I've watched him park that trailer in spots I didn't think possible with ease.

Go to another mega, you'll go solo within a month. Prime's scamming their mentors who pay for your training. Sad ...

Oh I'm fine with the miles I had to do. I do find it strange that my trainer pays me and not Prime though.

Well it’s unfortunate that you are what’s wrong with the industry!! You seem super nice, and feel bad about that situation…. But I’m going to be brutally honest!! You’re the reason why I hate parking in truck stops….. think if that was an O/ O hood, and not a pole you hit, you would have made a couple calls, and had a couple things fixed on trailer and been on your way in a few hours!! And that O/O would have probably been put out of business, so sorry, I will not get on here and say “it’s ok bro, shit happens and you’ll hit quite a few things before you figure it out!!! Judging by picture your initial impact of the pole was 8-10 ft ahead of where you stopped!! Why did you keep pulling truck over pole and not stop and back up? Then you talk about people starring at you as they go around you!!! What? So your saying with you there in the way (where it was tight to make the corner), there’s still room with you and the trucks you were trying to maneuver around, to get an additional truck through????? Sometimes you have to use common sense, and forget what these “mega “carriers are pushing…… And for your “trainer” saying it’s ok if you hit a couple things, and for you to hear that and think to your self “oh ok”, it’s you not wanting to be better at that job…. You should NOT be ok with hitting anything that in your power not to…..
@LifeAccording2Logan3 ай бұрын
At no point did I say that I, or my trainer are or were ok with me hitting anything. It was more like OK. You hit something. Now let's go over what you did wrong and correct it so it never happens again. I was very clear in the video of what happened and what I did wrong. I didn't post this for sympathy points. I posted what I did wrong as a matter of being honest about my journey, and so others can maybe learn from my mistakes. Just because I posted this recently doesn't mean this incident happened recently either. It's pretty bold to say I'm what's wrong with the industry. It's your opinion and that's that. God forbid a brand new driver made a few really bad decisions while driving. I guess I'm the only one that's ever done that! Pointing the finger at me, a brand new CDL holder, as the problem and not the people who make the federal regulations for obtaining a CDL as such...interesting deduction on your part. also never said that I'm gonna just keep hitting things until I figure it out. That's not my message at all. The fact that you derived that from my video is perplexing to me honestly. I strive to genuinely improve on everything so I can be a good safe driver. And yeah, people were looking at me while I was hung up on that pole. Kinda part of the punishment of making such grave mistakes. Mentioned it as it was part of the whole picture. Well hope you have safe travels out there nonetheless.
