You will eventually find success in tournaments. I think you just need a bigger sample size. The best tournament players only cash about 20% of the time. Tournament strategy is slightly different than cash - you make moves in tournaments that you wouldn’t make in a cash game. Start reading every tournament book you can get your hands on, and you’ll be head and shoulders above the rest.

5:26 something I’ve noticed and used as a general rule for myself (since it seems to be correct most of the time in my own experience!) When players lead into me after I raise preflop, I generally find it’s almost never done with strong hands. I’m not exactly sure why they do it, but at least where I’ve played, it’s something people will do with top pair with a shitty kicker or 2nd/3rd pair or worse on the flop. It’s extremely strange! I think I’ve heard Brad mention that usually when people lead into the preflop aggressor, it isn’t done with a very strong hand but I can’t remember if there’s any logic behind it? Maybe someone knows and can comment on this thread.
@AndrewNeeme Жыл бұрын
I think your read is an accurate one. Typically people are doing it to "see where they're at" which isn't typically the best reason to bet.
