As hurricane Milton nears landfall, storm surge is starting to pour into Venice, Florida. Up to 10 feet of surge is expected. Hurricane Force winds have also begun across the area. Storm surge is approaching many homes now in the city of Venice.

I dont understand the people with motorhomes and RVs why not load up your family into it and pets and important documents and items and take off.. you don't even need to get a hotel or anything you can literally just drive north or east and park your camper, rv or motorhomes at a truck stop like pilot flying jay, or a luves, or even a damn rest stop off the highways shit you can park at a Walmart parking lot even.. makes no sense.. no cop is going to say anything as everyone was evacuating for the storm .

People don't understand that NC didn't get flooded from the hurricane alone. There was a front that dropped inches of rain that stayed over top of us for 2 days. Then the dams dumped even more water. The hurricane was just the icing on the cake. Helene brought the winds, not the rain .
