Chad provides an introduction to a chapter on gases describing common properties of gases and defining pressure. Students will learn that gases have no definite shape or volume. This contrasts liquids which have a definite volume but no definite shape and solids which have definite shape and volume. Students will also learn that gases are highly compressible that they mix with other gases in all proportions. The lesson is concluded with a discussion of pressure, the common units used for measuring it an chemistry, and how to convert between those units.
