I really miss arcades. I loved it when you were on a winning streak in street fighter 2, mortal kombat or killer instinct and people kept putting their quarters on the cabinet to be the next challenger. Man it was great.

Mortal Kombat II is far better than 1. Also Alien Vs. Predator is much better than Aliens. I wouldn't put Pit Fighter at all. The Dungeons & Dragons beat 'em up games are better than Golden Axe too. Double Dragon is definitely underrated, and Final Fight too. By the way TMNT II is much better than TMNT I.

To answer your question I do love immensely the old school stuff, but pretty much anything from the Dreamcast era are 10 out of 10 arcade games for me, all those racing games, light-gun games, shoot 'em ups, 2D fighters, sports games, and the 3D fighters were also very good in that era. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, The King Of Fighters 2002, The Last Balde 2, Garou Mark Of The Wolves, Samurai Shodown V Special, Vampire Chronicles For Matching Service, Guilty Gear X, Gradius V, Ikaruga, Mars Matrix, Giga Wing 1 & 2, Zero Gunner 2, Gunbird 2, Dragon Blaze, etc..

Time Crisis with that gun that would kick back as you pulled the trigger .. I loved that game. In my hometown of Walla Walla WA back in the 90's we had an Arcade Named "House of Games" and Time Crisis was right in the front. $15.00 paid your way in and gave u free range from open to close and also got you a 20 punch card to use to play the top shelf arcade games such as Time Crisis. Good times.. Good times

Cruis'n USA was a huge for me. I owned Daytona USA and Rad Racer and stuff, but I never got that into an arcade racing game that much before. It looked and played so amazing that I was extremely hyped for the home version, but after playing the N64 port... man, it was such a letdown... To this day I'm still waiting for a good home version. I'm sure it will never happen due to the parties involved and everything, but if they made an Cruis'n collection I would buy that thing day one.

I love that the Arcade felt always like a family…. When you put your coin on the side as a sign to be next. Never any fights with that rule…. And offcourse all the fans around the Soul Calibur machine and Mortal Kombat 3 ultimate machine. Those memories🥳🥳

As a kid, I absolutely loved going to the arcade! My very favorite is Virtual-On. You get to sit and use these unique arcade sticks (officially called Twin Sticks) to move and fight other robots. It was like you were actually the pilot of the robot since you were sitting there moving those sticks around while watching the screen. It was a super cool experience! I also had a soft spot for this Neo Geo cabinet at my local pizza place. It had Bust-A-Move and Blue's Journey on it, and I loved both games tremendously. Other than that, I also loved X-Men vs Street Fighter.

My dad would always walk to the local deli to get his sandwiches and he would give my sister and me a quarter to go play either Donkey Kong or Ms. Pac-Man. But my best memory was going to the local laundromat with my mom and I saw Marvel versus Capcom and I played the hell out of that game until our clothes were dried out. That arcade game alone is what got me into fighting games.

There is something ethereal about Magician Lord's art. I noticed it right away when I first saw it in the 90's, although I couldn't describe it then and I can't describe it now. It's a bit like Hieronymus Bosch's paintings, weird and hideous and otherworldly and awesome all at the same time.

ML starts off with canvas art and then transitions to tiles and then back to canvas. Then there's the use of color, atmosphere, music, character/enemy design... and then on top of getting all that perfectly right, Alpha were always able to give their games spirit, this made their work a living art. The Japanese were very good at this during this period.

@@boonboy8333 Now that you mention it, yes it does! I can’t believe I never took note of it! (I owned a Neo Geo in 1993 and this was the included game....along with Cyber Lip). World Heroes also has that canvas style going on and I remember how good it made the first two games pop.

It's pretty rare anyone does an arcade 10 out of 10. Mostly because people don't want to put any effort into mastery these days. Now they just expect to be hand held and coddled through a 100+ hour interactive movie with mundane gameplay. When you've got limited lives and losing hurts the lunch money the victory is MUCH more sweet. Excellent work HappyConsoleGamer.

My favorite arcade memories were each year for one full week we had our county fair that had a separate huge tent from other tents and buildings that was specifically dedicated for arcades to be in it! There was about 50 or more different arcade machines to choose from! I always remember huge crowds around both the Mortal Kombat II arcade machine and the Simpsons arcade machine because those two were the most popular in that area during the early to mid 90's! I enjoyed playing those arcade machines and wish they still commonly had them everywhere like most places always used to have!

720° was it for me, with its crazy rotational joystick. The booming "Skate or Die!" warning that anyone in the arcade could hear standing nearby, along with the pursuing bees, didn't mean a thing and I'd skate around performing difficult tricks with watchers thinking I'd be dead at any second. When we weren't actually skateboarding, we had to be playing a skateboarding game. This was the only arcade game I could finish in one quarter.

Super happy you included Mark of the Wolves. IMO, it is indeed one of the greatest fighting games. Some other I was hoping to see in your list: Metal Slug, Snow Bros, House of the Dead, and my personal favorite, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs

Forgot about Magician Lord! After watching this vid I booted it up on Coin Ops on my modded OG Xbox (thank God for unlimited credits!) and played it all the way through until the end. A great game 🙂

Hello HappyConsoleGamer. Taito is throwing their hat into the mini console ring with the Egret II Mini. A mini console version of their Egret II candy cab arcade machine from 1996. It will have 40 built-in games as well an additional 10 games from an SD card slot.

Arch Rivals -- the basketball game where you could punch the other team and comedic mini-cutscenes would periodically play out. The game was by the same people and had same visual style as Rampage.

So happy to see Alien vs Predator in this video. It's one of the first arcade games I remember playing when I was a kid and my dad would take me to the arcade.
