what is making the crit 41%? it seems insane for fire. and its supposedly around 25 for most m+ builds according to murlock website any tips?

There is a mage talent for +15% crit and additional 10% crit rating from every source. So basically if I open up my character in-game I will see the crit of 41% (even 48% with a different ring). (Funny thing, but my haste rating is bigger than crit rating, but the percentage is smaller.) So... in armory I will see 26% crit chance. That is because armory doesn't count talent gain. So keep it mind.

one quick trick for people who read this. if you know it will take somee time in between 2 pulls, safe a hot streak at the end of the pull and then you can use it on a random flame strike while running. This way you give your skb stacks 15 more seconds to last

What does w/e mean in the case of hybrid build status? more mastery or haste? In any case, is ignite better than flamestrike? when it comes to targets with a lot of hp?

It means you can go whatever stats for the playstyle you use more in that spec, since you adjust your gameplay based on stats and situation. Ignite is less aoe than flamestrike, more priority dmg. Which is generally valuable for timing a key moreso than doing more aoe dmg.

Already active ignites gain no value from you pressing combust, so no. Activating combust just helps you spread your ignite.

Could you explain to me why living bomb is used? I’ve watched this video a few times and I can’t understand it. Altered time and other sites say to just not use it as it makes such a small difference. Certainly not saying you’re wrong. I just want to know why you use it and what it does to help your rotation. Also, I’m using the full ignite build and I’m only doing 18s to get better with the rotation. Without Aug in like 129k overall usually. I don’t find the other builds to be fun. So I think given what you shared on this video I should feel better about my dps as if it’s really isn’t meant for keys sub 23?

Crit/vers or haste/vers for crafted pieces. If its bracers or cloak or boots you can put mastery on it if planning to mainly play ignite.

Well if you have a heating up during a hardcast flamestrike you should not be able to double flamestrike off that, unless you have server lag

Personally I'd just sim ST, that leads you down the crit/haste path, and then you get your mastery from 2x BSL and your tier pieces.

living bomb doesnt impact when you pyro vs flamestrike, covered it, but its 4-7t depending on your mastery, and if you need prio dmg. 4t being the base.

Hybrid build feels like a overall dmg loss to me, since you basically only flamestrike low HP pack of mobs, while loosing that full ignite dmg on other packs and boss aswell. That is what in dont get on this build. I would understand if you would flamestrike everypack and use that ignite dmg for boss dmg or like 2 targe🎉t cleave. Am i wrong?

It's prob worth noting , running with an aug makes ignite stronger then most classes ,as 1 less damage dealer makes things last longer to benefit from the ignite more.

Im confused how hes getting 2 instant casts of flamestrike in a row, spell log says flamestrike-flamestrike but he consumes a hot streak on flamestrike... flamestrike gives him heating up, how is the second one instant cast? I've noticed a similar thing for pyroblasts too and in the cast log in sims... hot streak pyro then after that cast they somehow have another hot streak? I get the casting 2 spells to land at the same time but thats not relevant here Edit: he just explained how it works with pyro but still dont understand with flamestrike

So you basically want to start every main combustion with a SKB proc ready to go so you can get the benefit out of both combustions together while chaining a SKB proc at the end to extend it even longer like all 3 combustions together? And shifting power when finished. Then you fit one small SKB before repeating the process?

Well that’s an ideal situation but you should never hold skb unless a pack is gonna die literally in the next few seconds. Otherwise you will get less combustion uptime for the whole key.

@@jayryan1956 our ignite damage scales off mastery, so it’s still a great star for fire. The idea is if you can get extra mastery from embellishments you don’t have to sacrifice other stats on your gear. You can still have high crit and haste as well as high mastery from embellishments. Giving good single target and aoe damage. Since in a key both are required this is a solid way to gear.

you need entirely different stats, i believe frost goes for Crit / Mastery, while fire needs a certain amount of haste versa mainly and some crit aswell.

yeah I always heard 200 + ping. So if you normally run at 50ms of ping, you should set it at 250ms or maybe a bit higher for buffer.

I am not sure about Meteor, maybe you can elaborate on that. I rarely see people using Meteor before combust, even though the sims show it like that. On the Bear pull in dht for example you used Meteor during combust. Is there a reason why we should use it during combust and not before?

Only reason I can think off, is the feel the burn buff. You meteor to get max ignite damage from it with max mastery.

Fireball cast time is longer than meteor land time, so you have to combust early into the cast for it to crit. Generally speaking i pre cast when i have low enough haste to scorch. Also its worth to delay to hit more mobs or if you think it may miss.

I'm 430 ilvl and only managing around 40-50k overall in dungeons and similar on single target... obviously im making a lot of mistakes but it doesnt feel that bad... not really sure whats going on - doesnt feel like my ilvl being low and a lack of tier set should be making this much of a difference. combustion uptime is 25-30% which i think is ok but even during combust i dont do much damage :D pyroblast critting for only 45k

Playing ignite on 24 ~ keys seems a bit optimistic on tyrann weeks. If you have 2 other decent DPS players your ignite wil not really do much on trash. Just my personal experience

I whatch this but at the end after 2 weeks of trying fire mage with ignite build în m20+,21,22,23, i literally do dmg more than healer but lower than tank, and i dont know what is wrong with that ignite, i whatch all the video and they said: "u need to Target that big mob health bar cast combustion-pyro-fb-pyro etc, and ur ignite will do a lot of dmg" for me its do like 5k on mobs every 1 sec în sense there is like 8-10 mobs after a sesion of casting i do like 100k from pyroblast and another 50k from ignite where u add another 2 spell to get the instant pyro în total i do somehow like 220k with full combustion... and i see video where all of u get like 1.5M în a big pool like everbloom that fire pool, there i do like 300k, can u explain that more în detail please.. Like how to get that dmg of ignite... for me have no sense like with that 5k from ignite if there în the pool are over 12 mobs IT s like 60k and u add the pyro and flame and meteor and fb and i get over 300k, all of u got over 1M

Hello, the presentation of information does not flow naturally. I would hope that it starts out simple and then expands. I don't mean to ask for a beginner guide, but you jump into a rotation with vague wording "skb flamestrike on 3", and although I can maybe guess what 3 means... you don't want the audience to be guessing. So if I can't read your opener without waiting for you to explain, I'm sitting here hoping you explain what it means within the first few minutes. Yet until you do that, most of the first few minutes of explanation have a loss of value. I am sure you are a true expert mage, and I believe with some development on presentation, you could have the best mage videos in the world.

I think that the main problem with fire mage is absence of rotation. I mean, rotation is conditional sequence of buttons that you push. Fire mage is more about proc consideration: When is it better to use combust? Do I have enough guaranteed crits at the moment to use it? Etc. From some point of you playing as fire mage is art unlike some shitty DH or BM, who are being top dps just facerolling keyboard XD
