Had the privilege to visit Cedar Creek some years ago. Fascinating history and beautiful countryside made for a very memorable day.

Nice to see they used the photo with George A. Custer relaxing with some of his men before or after the battle.

Wonderful presentation! Was surprised the fiddler didn't also play the battle's namesake tune, written by Pvt J. Pressley, 3rd AL Vol Inf. But lovely playing of the other well loved tunes. :)

My bad. The photo with Custer was taken in May 1862 - not at the battle of Cedar Creek. Custer is on the right front - it is cropped from the original which includes a dog lying next to Custer. The photo depicts the staff of General Porter. Custer was a Lieutenant at that time.

It’s crazy to imagine how armies could maintain focus and order when the fighting reached hand to hand combat. Can you imagine how chaotic that must have been😱. By the way, I just found I live only 1 hour 10 minutes from this historic place…I’ll be checking it out for sure🙏
