On October 5th 2012 the Buchholz High School Golden Regiment hosted their annual Middle School Night - when 8th graders from area middle schools join them at a home football game. The 8th graders ride on the buses with the Golden Regiment, march in the stands, and even play along side the Golden Regiment in the stands. The highlight is watching the spectacular Golden Regiment halftime show! After going all the way to the football game on the buses - the football game was cancelled due to rain. Instead of calling it a day and disappointing those 8th graders - Mr. Kaminsky, the director of the Golden Regiment, decided to bring those kids back to Buchholz and put on a show for them in the auditorium!
It was amazing to watch this professional group of high schoolers quickly transform their program into a powerful inside event! The middle schoolers gathered in the auditorium to watch the Golden Regiment perform their pre-game show and the music from their 2012 Program - NIght on Bald Mountain! After this powerful performance - Mr. Kaminsky had an impromptu question and answer for the audience. All agree - that this evening was not only a huge success - but maybe we should host the middle school night in this format for following years.
The video shows the Golden Regiment performance from this evening - no rehearsal - all on the fly - with only a few minutes to coordinate. Congratulations to Mr. Kaminsky, the entire Golden Regiment, and all the Band Booster Parents for their dedication and support. SUDA!
