Thank-you for outlining these. I've been utilizing the variables feature since the release and getting more comfortable using it and the last hack for user testing is just what I was looking for. Also, we did a BBQ (Grilled Out) last night: ribeye steaks (medium rare) & a melody hash of fresh diced & seasoned: potato/onion/garlic/tri-color cherry tomatoes.

I love the last bit on making the name a variable! At work I always preach about using as realistic data as possible for prototype testing and this extends to the users name. Makes it way more personal.

Just a heads up... status is built into the Sections tool within Figma. You can set a number of status details there and do not need a new control to do this. It also allows you to group screens together to help keep things in order.

Yep! We use sections for grouping components and prototype flows but we still like our kit 😁

I saw a file in the figma community of a *functional search input with suggestions as you typed* It was insane, almost impractical. But i can see it being hella useful for user testing scenarios.

Personally I use text replacements in the keyboard options. I simply replaced "-->" by "↳" :)

I had the same question. Did some googling, it looks like it is Unicode. Code: 21B3 ↳ Downwards Arrow With Tip Rightwards Then, according to wikipedia: Hex input of Unicode must be enabled. In Mac OS 8.5 and later, one can choose the Unicode Hex Input keyboard layout; in OS X (10.10) Yosemite, this can be added in Keyboard → Input Sources. Holding down ⌥ Option, one types the four-digit hexadecimal Unicode code point and the equivalent character appears; one can then release the ⌥ Option key.[

If you have a mac, open the emoji tool box by short cut combo with fn and e keys. Then see and select the arrows you like.

Statuses are not working as displayed in the video for me. When I toggle status "ON", I don't get additional options to change status. I have to drill down into the component to actually change it. Can you tell us how did you achieve to be like it is displayed in a video?
