I'm going to make a video on all the ways to save money on food soon! I'm not much of a chef, so I don't know if I'm qualified to tell people how to cook 😅 but I definitely want to talk about ways to save on food

Even if it’s just some basic meal ideas that would be so helpful 😊

This is the first video I've watched. Cool stuff. Have you considered adding chapters?

Glad you find value! You know, I usually forget to add chapters, but I've been making some longer videos recently so lll try to be better about that. Thanks for the reminder!

I just found your channel and I really appreciate your mind set on spending less. I work in law enforcement in a very low income area. I see everyday people making choices keeping themselves in low income situations and it can be heart breaking. I try to live on an extremely low budget for three main reasons. 1. To prove to the people in my community with $20,000 incomes that it is possible. 2. It helps me have a privatized retirement system so I don't have to be tied to a police department that may not always continue to live up to my values. 3. And most important to me, I live below my means so that I can benefit the world around me. I give away 27% of my income every year. ( I'm not saying that to make myself seem good. I just genuinely love people because God does.) With the 27% I make as a lower income police officer I can literally single handledly financially support an orphanage, hospital, and school in the third world counties I support projects in. I don't plan on retiring supper early, but when I do it will be in one of those areas where my money will go farther and my law enforcement experience will work to suport the local ministies. I also intend to have invested in the lives of literally 100s of children by then by having provided them with the money necessary for their education and safe living situation. No to mention, I like to hope I will have done some decent work form years of fighting crime. That way a very long winded way of saying, I suggest you do a video on motivations for why people may want to live extremely frugal lives. I know for me personally, I don't like a lot of "financial gurus" because their motivations seem pretty shallow and stupid. That used to hold me back from learning helpful skills. Seeking financial independences seemed like something you only did if you wanted to become a crazy rich diva. (Which was not appealing for obvious reasons) I like your work on this channel and want to see it take off. I think showing ways your approach could appear to a more diverse set of motivations will help. Why are we alive? What do people truly value that would benefit from this? How could saving the money from your morning coffee out further your overall purpose for existing? That kind of topic would be awesome!

Wow, thank you so much for this reply (and for all of your service and contributions). This is 100% something I plan to talk more about in the future. Frugality comes naturally to me, but I know I need to do a better job of explaining why it's so important. One reason to live frugally, the one I talk about the most, is the insane speed at which it's possible to become financially free, even on a regular income. Working side hustles or trying to start a business isn't for everyone, but regular people can be financially secure too. But you're right that there are so many other reasons to live frugally. I haven't talked about it yet on this channel, but I actually plan to keep "earning to give" (whether through a 9-to-5 or other means). I'm really into effective altruism, and I clearly don't need all the money for my own simple lifestyle. I will definitely talk about this in the future!!! Thanks again

Living in Greece, I can probably only benefit from hack #9. However, there's an additional hack that, as far as I know, applies only in Greece: Under Greek law, all European-issued ETFs (UCITS) have a 0% tax on both capital gains and dividends. So, I invest in US indices (S&P 500, Nasdaq, All-World, etc.) through these investment vehicles. Maybe it's worth considering relocating to Greece, instead :P

Im sticking with Roth IRA's to be able to withdraw the contributions incase of emergencies. I grew up in a poor household and seeing my dad get penalties on his 401k to pay bills was awful.
