Pretty much all MS from G Reco have cockpits with basic pilot amenities like storage spaces for essential supply and pilot seats doubling as toilets. Some extreme cases like the unusually spacious cockpit of the G Lucifer or G Rach can fit a full size shower inside. So in theory the G Reco Gundams are basically RVs…… that comes with WMDs……

Fun fact/s: The reverse is usually more common in real life: a civilian product that has military uses. The US through its international trade laws calls these "Dual-Use" products, and heavily limits their sale. For example, certain civilian aircraft electronics components can both be flight guidance systems for passenger planes, but also missiles. US trade laws hold the US-based manufacturer or retailer liable if they sell to entities representing those in blacklisted countries like Russia, China or various Arab states. Also, Nazi Germany was actually limited in certain military use material because they couldn't possibly hide it as a civilian thing. For example, the reliance on Stukas and dive-bombing is mostly due to a tight shortage of medium-to-heavy bombers. It's not just that they were expensive to produce, but Germany pre-war couldn't hide any such pilot training programs. Because single-engine piloting wasn't restricted (Germany participated in air races etc.) but multi-engine, especially four-engine, was. Germany tried to establish commercial airlines to justify this, but even then four-engine pilot training would still be highly suspect. The fact that Germany couldn't really try strategic bombing, a sort of attractive doctrine at the time, really hampered their efforts, as well as created friction between the Heer and the Luftwaffe. I think Patlabor does non-combat mecha really well, they developed mecha for basically all kinds of heavy-duty work. Most "labors" were probably construction mecha, but they also showed mechs made for fire/rescue/medical response, underwater exploration/extraction, farming/agriculture, mining, and of course, the titular police mechs to deal with the rise of mecha-related crime that came with labors becoming more common in everyday life. I actually kinda wish Gundam would develop more civilian mobile suits and show them doing dangerous stuff like deep-space or hazardous planet exploration, extraplanetary mining, colony construction, rescue operations, etc.

What I believe you meant to say was that the Turn A would become "the ULTIMATE washing machine", complete with triumphant fist-raising and rousing tone of voice! A little historical note: The tank got its name from when, after building these experimental machines - based on tractors - and in order to actually get them TO the front lines, British Intelligence named the cargo as "TANK", their logic being that enemy intelligence would see this and think they were transporting simple water containers! The battlefield was never the same again, as everyone began copying these rolling death machines we'd built, though, granted, not everyone was what you might call "successful"... The German attempt tipped over if if went near a bump, the French one struggled with terrain more difficult than a Yorkshire moor, the Americans saw this, but for forty years after World War II thought they had no place in combat! Another example for racing MS would be from Gundam AGE, as Woolf Enneacle used to be a pro mobile suit racer, with the beyond Katoki fully decal'd Shaldoll-G as his main MS of choice. Another alternate MS usage from AGE was the Rogue Bat, named after its rather gothic appearance. The large bat-like wings protruding from its back were used to store extra propellant and also had radio sensors that acted similarly to a bat's echo location; both of these were added in order to maximize its efficiency in deep space mining operations after the end of the Vagan war.

Here's a Fun one. If I had the Abyss Gundam Id Love to use it similar to the Stargazer, but instead of Deep Space exploration Abyss would be used For DEAP SEA Exploration with the abyss Streamlined aquatic design and VPS armor I'm sure the abyss could handle deep sea Pressure. After all unlike the aquatic forbiddens that were just regular forbidden but tweaked for underwater the abyss was Made for the water from the Get-go Not to mention even if the beams are at low power if not Stright up useless the abyss has more than enough fire power to handle any threat short of Godzilla himself if i run into any problems down there. See all the ethical issues there are an issue of replicant manufacture. They solved that issue with innovades over in 00's timeline. Plus, if the tech is miniaturized enough you could (theoretically) just make a Micro-Mobile Suit and remote control it from your main psychoframe so people don't know it's not you. Still have to be a newtype most likely, but cyber-newtype production methods have surely advanced to be less traumatic right?

There are races, many people own private valks, if we consider MII, there are specialized mecha used for journalism, as standard equipment. Probably a mix of Stargazer and Astray Outframe exploration with backpack/core block system serving as living quarters with amenities while away from a ship. Basically a MS equivalent of a Kei Truck. can be sold for researchers, exploration, and tourism. Perhaps the sewage system can also be used as an offensive attack. 🤣 Closest we can get would be using a Raysta as a base although ZAFT had something similar "Hospital Zaku" which the ZAKU carried a special wizard pack that functioned as a medbay / clinic.

I'd like to see a series where Mobile Suits primary function is space exploration. Like, set during an earlier age of colonization -- a kind of wild west where the imaginary boarders haven't been drawn yet and prospectors are out there scouring the solar system for riches. In this largely lawless environment people start retrofitting their Mobile Suits and other tools into makeshift weapons since no one has real arms manufacturing going on out there, and a nuclear powered giant robot is still a nuclear powered giant robot.

1 more use for those Mobile Suit that i think you havent mention but is being seen multiple time in series use as power plant/power generator in IBO, Barbatos was first seen used as one in 00, all the original GN Drive Gundams has been seen used as one (for Ptolemy) probably few more but these are the one i rmmber

I think i can describe how Mika can move with the Barbatos being connected, and i can sum it up in two ways: 1. As mikazuki recieved more feedback from the Barbatos, it would also be forced out to the point some of his muscle memories would completely disintegrate and he become paralyzed because of it. 2. The Barbatos, having originally been used with the OG Alaya-vjinana, would only work with the original, so when Mika and his pseudo-alaya-vjinana connected, the Barbatos would sense a disturbance and try to force the pilot out by proceeding to destroy the body. It might also pertain to how Mika talks to the Barbatos because the system knows he's not the original pilot but will make do at the cost of losing his.

If I had a mobile suit I would probably use it for heavy lifting and likely try to figure out how to mow my lawn with it, and likely for transportation, including groceries. Makes me think of an episode of Zoids. I think it was New Century Zero, the one with battle competitions. In one episode their raptor pilot took he Zoid out to get groceries and in one scene it was shown skipping while holding a shopping basket. It was hilarious.

For the Alaya Vinjayana System explaination. Think of it as the nerves in your body. Your whole body is being controlled by a series of Nervous systems. without the nervous system to receive and send information, you eventually lose the ability to use that part. Exp: Mika's right side of his body. The way the Alaya Vinjayna system works is that it acts as a connecting bridge to those nervous systems. It artificially repairs the nervous system to allow the pilot to use the Gundam. Otherwise how is a pilot who pushed the limiters of their gundam expected to pilot the suit if they cannot move their limbs
