Talia al Ghul That iconic sword scene is one of the many reasons why no one will ever be able to convince me that Temple of Doom is a prequel. Because the scene in Temple, in which Indy tried to pull his gun only to realize it wasn’t in his holster, was a callback to Raiders. “But the title cards at the start-“ I don’t care! I stand by my theory that George Lucas and Stephen Spielberg’s crew accidentally put the wrong date on Temple and, rather than admit the mistake, they just began passing it off as a prequel! Um...... Sorry. I was having way too much fun debunking this in the comments of Rob Walker’s FanScription video on Channel Awesome. 💚😂😂💚

Few corrections. Tanzania = Tunisia. Telescope = Periscope. Das Boat = Das Boot. Also, I remember seeing the original theatrical release when I was a kid and Indiana Jones riding the periscope was included in that release. I was confused when I finally got to watch it at home on VHS tape and saw that that scene was removed from the movie. I never understood why they removed that few seconds of footage for the VHS release.

I think Tom Selleck could have pulled off the role of Indianna Jones, but let's face it, Harrison Ford OWNS that role. Which shouldn't be too surprising, since Harrison Ford always seems to bring that something extra to his roles that makes him really stand out.

Yeah Ford was the better choice, but Selleck wouldn't have been too bad in it either. He made several Indy-inspired movies in the 80s., that were .. well at least not completely horrible. The 2 Quatermain movies with Richard Chamberlain were of course rip offs too, but pretty decent and well scripted.

This movie came out when I was 13 years old. It was the first movie I went to see by myself. It was an awesome film one it was over before you knew it. On the seat thrills with well timed laughs. A very iconic film that still holds up in todays filims. On a side note I watched the the remake Minty referred to. It is quite impressive considering that much of the movie was on a shoestring budget (If it even had a budget at all). The airfield scene was the last to be filmed for the remake. story has it that Spielberg was told of the project and was impressed enough with footage, he arranged to have the actual plane used in Raiders for the remake. I believe it is available on youtube to view.

Lucas' husky inspired two awesome characters didn't it? Indiana Jones and also Chewbacca. The dog made Lucas want to have a huge fluffy character in star wars. And that character ended up becoming Chewie. Or so I heard.

Bonus fact: John Williams came up with two themes for Indiana Jones and when Spielberg heard them, he asked Williams to combine them into one longer theme. So basically there's part A theme and part B theme that we all know now.

Around mid 60's when I was a kid, I used to wear a suit, tie, and well polished dress shoes and pretend I was an International Spy and pretended I was in Europe in my neighborhood on a secret mission. (In which case there are lot of old homes that were built by Italian Stone Masons back in the 20's, 30's and 40's. An old working class family neighborhood. Now these old homes are in the million dollar range.)
