I am a loner, people literally drain me. I don't mind being around others, but I always look forward to getting home where I can rejuvenate my energy. I enjoy not answering to others, as I can come and go as I please, do what I want - when I want. I prefer the company of animals. Being a loner doesn't mean one is lonely - there is a peace in not surrounding oneself with drama.

I love being alone most of the time, especially living by myself (besides my furbabies) 🥰 The thing I enjoy the most about being alone is to have the freedom to choose what I want to do with my time and just not deal with people. I have a few close loved ones, but I don't care for general interaction with people I don't know. Strangers have started conversations with me occasionally, but I don't think it's really needed at least not for me. I'll be polite and civil, but I would much rather just listen to Coldplay or talk to a loved one on the phone. People sometimes can be fickle or just want something out of you. Not always, but in order to decrease this risk, spend more time alone lol 😆 God bless all of you, take care, stay safe, in Jesus' mighty name Amen 🙏💕🕊️ Lastly, even Jesus spent time alone on several occasions, so clearly solitude is important 🌸

Definitely me. What I like best about solitude is not worrying about entertaining others or having them interrupt my down time. I can just enjoy my varied interests like music, reading, digital art, movies, cooking, gaming, studying/learning & so much more without endless questions & chatting. I dread more extroverted people calling or texting me with the question "what are you doing right now?" For me, I feel like if answer honestly, the more extroverted person will think I'm not busy & will want to talk or come over or meet up somewhere...just as I was really enjoying whatever it is that I'm doing. Am I the only one who feels this way about the "what are you doing right now?" question?

I became friends with myself many years ago when I was a teenager. I am many years older and have never regretted this choice. For the most part, I have avoided the noise and distractions that present themselves daily. I have a small coterie of people with whom I associate, but not too often. There is joy in solitude where I can contemplate who I am, what I am and why I am here - questions posed by people worldwide. I feel fortunate to be who I am. I take great comfort in the absence of others. So many of them are vexations to the spirit, as stated in the Desiderata. A good read, by the way. Takes about two minutes. Look it up.

I am quite envious of you living on Vancouver Island. I live in busy, noisy Toronto, but alone. Nothing makes me happier than wandering alone in nature, though after some injuries I’m finding it painful to walk far. Used to belong to a small hiking and canoeing club. Even the company of some of those people was too much. A few of them were quite controlling and obnoxious. Between the ages of 8 and about 20, my family owned an island in beautifulTemagami in northern Ontario. It has remained my favourite spot on earth to this day, and I wish I still had a car so I could visit. I managed to go up two years ago with a car rental and then rented a boat and went down to the island and sat there for six hours after roaming around looking at everything. I had the strongest feeling that that would be the last time I might be there. I’ve been such a loner all my life that my family named a big rock offshore of the island that you you can walk to on some stones, Claire’s rock, because I would sit there reading for hours on a cushion of pine needles. Bliss. Just the sound of seagulls now and then, and a breeze blowing through the trees.

Oh wow!!! I thought I was the only human being who loves to be alone. Being alone engenders creativity, ingenuity and imagination. imagination can take you everywhere and anywhere you want to be. I am in the quest for making things better ... perfection.

This video is amazingly accurate. I love being alone because i get chance to focus and grow i also enjoy my peace of mind. Most important part of being alone is God has a chance to make us our best selves that He created us to be. Alone but not alone!!!

Being alone is blissfully peaceful and calm. I can have unlimited time to think. My record is 29 days and nights, solo wild camping. What a joy. Widowed at a young age now aged 64 I married my best friend 4 years ago. He is like me. We don’t live together but share each others homes but can go home to be by ourselves. Its fantastic for both of us.

I think one of the main reasons I prefer to be on my own is not to be disturbed in doing what I just want to do. I can get lost on purpose in my thoughts and/or actions and I can change my perspective about it and by the end this brings order.

I love being alone. I also love going out occasionally with people where I can converse and join in but as soon as I'm home, no matter how good the outing was, I am absolutely happy to be alone. Quite often I'll fall asleep for an hour or so because it exhausts me. In my time alone I'll do abstract painting which puts me in the timeless zone, I'm learning Hebrew which is such a beautiful and exciting language especially the writing of it. I love to write stories and metaphysical poetry. I love cleaning my home while listening to my favourite music. I love to cook and take care of myself. I have raised 7 children. I have 4 grandchildren with whom I spend time listening to their lives and encouraging. I am happy I believe because I am truly grateful for this amazing life which hasn't exactly been a walk in the park but being alone allows me to reflect and appreciate life without interruption. I am alone but not lonely per say.

If I want to sit and read a book for a few hours there will be no one to interrupt, love that.

I love spending time in my garden where I often have no idea what time it is and become totally engrossed in the activity there, whether it's weeding, planting, pruning etc

I considered myself a social person ,very social but who like to be alone most of the time so when i'm in companion i make that space of time special, and i have my very high standards of what i want my projects to be like , to conclude i can say that i know where i want to go and why , that's me !

I’ve learned to enjoy my lone time. I’m all you mentioned in the video. I never feel lonely. My expectations are high in relationships and I rather to wait to meet someone compatible in many ways rather than being in an uncomfortable relationship.

I have always enjoyed solitude, managing on my own. I have never been bored and give thanks that I am still able to manage my life at 77 years young.

Even though I’m a husband and have kids, two dogs, and a cat…. my alone time is so cherished. I lived alone in a big 5BR house I bought from ages from 24 to 34. I really enjoyed living alone and doing things alone. I still take time to do things alone; long drive, watch a movie, eat lunch at a restaurant, morning walk, play a video game….

I love solitude, love travelling alone and in general, love doing things alone... To be on my own, allow me to think about the tasks I have given myself and, to plan how to reach these things/goals 😊

Absolutely love it. Thank you Jesus 🙏. I'm 57 now but 4 years ago I got to finally live alone again. With my dog, of course!! Couldn't imagine anything better than Heaven!!!
