An aluminium and copper wire can be connected using the proper connection method, but not directly in contact with each other. The dissimilar metals will corrode from galvanic action and cause a faulty connection that could cause a fire.

@@creationholic101 Could use a wire blended with Iridium. Iridium has a higher Electrical Conductivity than Copper, doesn't Corrode, and can take High Temperatures. Though it does cost more, it would last 5 to 20 times longer than straight Copper.

Your ideas are absolutely brilliant. However, I must agree with some of the comments here about using aluminum rivets for connecting electrical wires - (a) they may not be necessary; (b) if really needed, why not use insulated ferrules properly crimped - they are way safer.

The rivet on the cable in the back of the socket is both dangerous and unnecessary. The socket terminals are shrouded to prevent them being touched or them contacting other conductive parts and you have left two pieces of aluminium sticking out. Just double the conductor over to double the thickness to ensure a proper fit in the terminals

5:00 illégal in France because dangerous, can cause fire. Putting raw untreated aluminum on coper causes a special oxidation that produces a resistive layer in between. Electrical channels are sometimes made with aluminium, but it's either a special aluminium mix, or treated, or its covered with a layer of an other metal, so remains aluminium in the mass, but no surface oxidation.

@@creationholic101 no, it isn't. Especially if you used an aluminum rivet. You are aware that aluminum oxidizes in the presence of oxygen and that aluminum oxide isn't nearly as conductive as aluminum, right? And if something doesn't conduct as well it is said to have RESISTANCE. Do you know what you get when you add resistance to the flow of electricity? That's right, you get HEAT. We all know what happens when objects get too hot. Hopefully that simplifies the explanation as to what you did can be dangerous. The NEC was written in blood.
