Second issue phone key: it's because the app get stopped or sleep mode. Android does that to save battery life. You should be able to disable these battery safe actions for each app individually. Make sure to do that. I personally wake up my phone shortly before entering the car to make sure the app is not in this battery safe mode

As a new Tesla owner (M.Y.), I am shocked at how stressful it can be simply driving this car, I bought it partially for the auto driving experience, hoping for a less stressful and more relaxing driving experience and commute, but I'm finding it to be quite the opposite. Frankly I'm considering going back to a regular ice so I can simply drive normally again instead of constantly worrying about nags, messages, and warnings, I just want to kind of drive normal again, you know?
@Deeniesweden28 күн бұрын
That’s my concern as well as I’m in several Tesla groups and people always complain about messages that would make me panic like something is with the tires or the battery. But I want this car and experience it myself I guess I will take the risk.

For Issue 1: Your key seems to also be connected to Sophie's profile; each key(phone) needs to be assigned to a specific profile manually, otherwise it'll go to the default driver profile - can change under profile settings

Please keep up the good work on the videos. My tips on the phone issues: your tesla app needs to run in the background for it to work when you approach the car. Also, both of you are paired with the same key, that is the reason you are having the issue when you switch drivers. But love your short and to the point videos without all the fluff. And thank you sir for not pimping your wife out, i hate seeing videos where the wife has to dress a certain way just to get views.

@0:34 my android phone-as-key works 99.9% of the time. ONLY time it fails, is after the app gets auto-updated on the phone, and I haven't re-opened the app after update (you need to relaunch it so running in background again.) Wife iPhone hasn't reported problems either.. you need to ensure the app is always running in background, so disable any battery/sleep optimizations (esp Android), and allow location always on iPhone... So far almost always the profiles work for me too (sometimes I get squished, if we approach car from different sides)... you can specify one as primary, that seems to help... but if you disabled her phone as key, not sure how it's recognizing hers to set profile?

This video hurts to watch. Every issue is so insanely nitpicky. The only problem I can understand is the phone key. Teslas arent much heavier than gas cars, they are, but not much, tires wearing out on ur car really fast is just how you drive. I have a model 3 and Y and if I just drive normally the don't wear down much. Also, the autopilot/fsd warning is there for safety, those features arent allowed without it, whether you like it or not. And the frunk not being powered just doesn't matter, it has so much storage in the back I never use the frunk. The trunk not having hands free opening is not that important since you can just open it with the app if you're using a shopping cart. Not to mention the mirror and driver profile option. That is the craziest problem since there are practically no other cars on the market that can even save your profile and automatically apply it when you get in. Literally just click 2 buttons.

For the tires my recommendation is to use Discount Tires if they exist in your states. They provide free tire rotations and if you buy their tire insurance per tire, it covers any road damage. if they cannot patch it they will replace it under warranty! My sister model Y had two tires slashed and Discount Tires replaced it under warranty which saved her over 1K+ in saving. Just do proper tire rotation at their shop and they will honor their warranty ! My second advice is getting insurance from Costco, it is much cheaper and reliable! My sister had a T-bone accident and the insurance company covered the repairs fine. Good luck and have fun! :D

I am going to be buying a Model Y, hopefully within the next months(maybe). I live in Florida. Can you offset the non-ventilated seats by precooling the car half an hour before you get in the car?
@outdoorevofficial8 ай бұрын
I think it would be helpful, but I don’t think it’ll completely solve it.
@cgamiga8 ай бұрын
pre-cooling works quickly (just a few minutes) and helps a LOT, though I am not in Florida... but, the vinyl seats don't really hold that much heat. Even if they are hot to touch, that heat dissipates very quickly once you sit on them. My Toyota leather seats actually felt hotter/longer, vs the Tesla (I do have black interior, you could also try white seats) For Florida/Arizona etc, if you have car out in the sun a lot, you might want to get 3rd party sun shield/mesh for the glass roof, that will help cool things and reduce glare, and reduce load on the A/C. Note, next year the coming Juniper Model Y refresh, should have ventilated/cooled seats like the recent Highland Model3, plus hopefully should include the MUCH improved smoother & quieter suspension/ride... that is still a big sticking point w/ my old Model3 and current Model Y
@liam19028 ай бұрын
If you're able to wait until next year, Tesla will most prob be releasing the new Model Y in 2025 which will have all the new changes that the new Model 3 has (including ventilated seats). However, we don't know the exact release date in the US and even then, it would prob take a few to several months before you actually get your car. It's rumored new Model Y might release late 2024 outside the US and then make its way to the US in 2025 (like how new Model 3 did it). We also don't know what will happen with the tax credits that are currently available. Otherwise, I would just purchase the current Model Y any time this year.

Practically all these ‘annoying things’ are because these youtubers don’t know how to use their iPhone properly and they don’t know much about cars either. A few tips: Don’t have your phone in sleep mode if you want it to accurately communicate with any car. You have an iPhone. Do you know it comes with shortcuts that you can use to verbally tell fhe tesla fo open the boot and much more? This will address most of your annoyances. All EV’s are super heavy so the tyre complaint, although valid, is not Tesla specific. If you want to see the notifications on your phone while on the charger, then don’t put a modification in that brings the screen forward and tilts and block your view of the phone. Thats your own doing. And lastly, do your research on the car and cars in general before making a youtube video like this that is misleading to people. Tesla is by no means a perfect car. I know that, but I was hoping to see legitimate annoyances here, not click bait.
@outdoorevofficial8 ай бұрын
I rather not have to compromise my phone’s battery health, which I find it annoying to do. To use that feature, I still have to pullout my phone if my hands are full. The modification tilts the screen up so idk what you meant by it’s blocking my view of my phone. This is from our personal experiences. There are plenty of “research based” videos that would satisfy your preferences. I agree, they aren’t perfect, but the car is superior than most and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It wasn’t clickbait. These were legitimately things we found annoying after owning it.
