It was some kind of a warrior woman, i don't even remember her name (y'know, all those generic mercenary NPC teammates, all look pretty much the same, all expendable, and heck, you can even be any of them yourself... and then another bunch of them comes into the scene...) She took me half-dead out of the mess so many times... I kinda even reallystarted to think of her as of a trusty battle comrade... And then once she got shot toobad, or maybe i got to her too late, i dunno... I used one syringe, but it wasn't enough, and then another one, butstill no effect, then the other one... and then i finally realised that it was not healing, but just a way to help her pass away in a drug bliss without pain... I have totally forgot that it is actually a possible variant of mercy kill, and that i already saw that in "Save Private Ryan" (i think) or some other war movie, and i never thought that i would encouter that in a videogame, and for sure i wasn't ready for this at that moment... I was so shocked when it was all over that i just stood there and didn't know how to react... And even if this game has manual saving, and i replayed that, it never felt the same working with that buddy since then... This game is full of boring things, it has quite an unusual ending, and a few more "dramatic" storyline twists, but i think morphine euthanasia is the strongest and strikes you when you least expect it - and the first person perspective only makes it even more intense.

Yeah games back then before 2013 were absolutelly different. You could feel that developers were making them with passion. Now when you play games most of them lets you feel like only thing they really cares about are money. New CoD games are just junk compared to old CoD and MoH games. Very interesting is also watching progress of Mafia game series.Mafia 1 had so many mechanics advanced for it's time,but most of them died as the series was progressing. It was a 3rd person shooter from 2002 and your car could run out of fuel,you could scroll down/up windows,shoot a handgun as a driver or a big gun like Thompson as a passenger,turn on/off the motor and headlights.And story was just fantastic. What i also loved so much about many of these old games was immersive music. It really added more feeling to the game. If you havent played these games yet then you should.I guarantee you that you wont regret it and you will most likely experience some of the best gameplay you have ever experienced in games.

Combat in this game was intense. I remember when I started yaing headphones in this game and I was attacking a base and had to retreat. A few enemies pursued me sonic hid in a bush and could hear them rustling the leaves and grass around me. It may not seem like much today, but I think I'll always remember that.

It was late night I was high and I was driving in the jungle looking at the map on the dash and looking around with my mouse and boom.. at this moment .. at this exact moment I got TOTALLY immersed in the game. There's also those kickass healing animations, or vehicles paint wearing down and the fact the grass and individual branches of trees are physics based, idly swaying only to flail back and forth away from explosions and in response to strong weather, and almost every individual branch being able to be shot off or burnt down. Movethatdope gameplay will always be limited by the tools you have, this was 2008. Its important to remember that far cry was not even supposed to exist, even less to suceed. God, the potential this game had. If it was made in 2019, this game could have been something incredible. The ideas were so ambitious for the time; unscripted AI, the buddy system, the weapon degradation, etc. It just simply spent so much time on the little details that the larger picture was kind of ignored/thrown together at the last second. It missed the forest for the trees for sure. All that being said though, it is still my fav game in the series, I must have beaten the damn game upwards of 8-9 times. The atmosphere was unmatched, the feeling of being alone in a hostile world in a genre filled with one-man army power trips was refreshing and exciting, and the intelligence (for the most part, sometimes they’re brain dead) in the AI along with the fact that there was no mini maps or tagging just made combat so suspenseful. I wish they would return to the continent with a stronger sense of narrative, a more comprehensive faction system (you don’t get attacked by factions your doing missions for, friendly outposts serve to resupply you, there’s always a frontline between the warring factions), a better buddy system (your buddies have their own unique skill set and YOU can choose how YOU want to use them for missions IF you want to use them, the catch being they would take a cut of the check), a better weapon degradation system (takes way longer for them to break, you don’t just have unlimited copies of a gun you bought you have to clean it/replace parts), and an actual open world like the one that recent open world games (RDR2 for example) have shown us is possible. A game like that not only would be incredible to play, but could touch on soooo many different themes in its narrative (child soldiers, ethnic cleansing, conflict diamonds, war crimes, neo-colonialism/foreign intervention in Africa). All I’m saying is that If I ever get filthy rich I know what idea for a video game I’d throw millions of dollars at. We can only dream

Here's something I found out years ago playing FC2. At the demilitarised towns, if you piss off a guard enough, they will shoot you after a while. I kept walking into one, pestering and bumping into him nonstop. He warned me over and over again, and finally after a while got so pissed off with me, that he drew his gun and shot me point blank. I miss those days. Most AAA tittles are so lazy these days. Far Crys ever since 3 have been pretty much just reskins of 3 with few additions and different stories and settings what is funny thing to be said about a franchise but seeing how 1st 3 Far Cry games were so wildly different from eachother its sad to see the stale state of the franchise these days. Personally i love to see franchises do something different with each game in them.
