Fun fact; Playstation 2 was fully backwards compatible with Playstation 1. Hidden away in the console settings were some options to offer a quality bump. This includes disc speed and texture smoothing (bi-filtering/interpolation). Vagrant Story worked very well with the Texture boost, looking even more amazing than on its original console.

I remember reading an article in 2016, which stated, that they had a pitch for Sleeping Dogs 2 story. The story would pick up after the first game and you would be able to play as Wei again, but also a new character named Henry Fang, who is described as a corrupt partner. It would play out in China's Pearl River Delta City. Sad we never got it.

Muramasa was awesome. And I actually loved replaying the game as our two leads Momohime and Kiskue actually have intertwining storylines that actually require replaying the game after getting the first ending for each of them, as you need 99% of the game's equip-able swords which means grinding levels and the extra challenge arenas which you can now unlock via the ability to destroy white barriers so you can get the stuff needed to craft them in order to access the boss fight against one another which is where you get the 2nd ending for each of them and then you finally get the game's strongest sword you can equip for both of them the Oboro Masamune in which you can access the true final boss for each storyline and get the 3rd and true ending for each of them.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem is still one of the best survival horror games I’ve ever played and it’s criminal it hasn’t gotten a sequel, remake, or remaster.

When you're done with the main game's story and side-quests, make sure you give the DLC stories a go. All are fantastic and well worth the money.

Sekiro also won GOTY, and it's kind of crazy that it seems like people need to constantly bring the game up so people don't forget about it

It is a beautiful game, one of my favorites, but the only problem is that you replay the game and you realize how impossibly frustrating some of the boss battles are. You feel like you need a college course on the game by the time it is over... And you aren't sure if the amazing game was worth all of that frustration.

Sleeping Dogs didn't start as a True Crime game; Activision had them rebrand the game as much and then got cold feet so then it was reverted after Square bought the publishing rights to the game (without the True Crime IP).

One of the leads from Sleeping Dogs development was also the lead in Bully, so that's why so many stuff is familiar, like the melee focus and the smaller but interactive open world

I, personally, think that Vanillaware never making sequels to any of their games shows their dedication to creating NEW ip's , even though it would be EASIER to make sequels ad infinitum, not only do they always get to work on what they FEEL GOOD about working on, they never feel like the team there is ever LOCKED INTO making sequels that anyone there are getting TIRED OF making, ala Worms games or, nameless others , im sure. Oh yeah,they haven't given in to the current REMAKE EVERYTHING EVER, REGARDLESS OF IT BEING GOOD OR NOT, and THANK GOD FOR THAT.

Vagrant Story was definitely the most painful one of those for me. I spent a whole summer vacation playing the hell out of that thing, and while it didn't exactly end on a cliffhanger, it was so obvious a sequel was set up. But nope. A shame.

Vagrant story did get a sequel it's called final fantasy 12 after all it's set in the same world and also has real time combat and because they called it a final fantasy game it meant it would sell well and people would give more of a look at it anyway. I don't know why they didn't just call the original final fantasy A vagrant story after all it is set in a final fantasy world the same world as final fantasy tactics so it would make sense. Maybe if the game gets a remake of remaster they will call it that after all they made kings Knight a part of final fantasy

You got the story to space station silicon valley wrong it's not a sentient computer chip it's a robot who got destroyed but still has control of their computer chip and can use it to possess other robots . Side note you don't need to get a copy you can just emulate it unless they release the game you're not denying anyone money so it's not really stealing the only people you're denying money are the people who are reselling it

But not all games need a sequel, let alone a franchise. Just because a game is good does not mean that translates into good ideas for a sequel. I'm glad there wasn't a Vagrant Story 2 because the original was fine as it was.

. . . Mark of the Ninja doesn't have a sequel because the protagonist canonically dies at the end 😶. And there's no real narrative reason for the mechanic around which the story was based, i.e. the cursed tattoo, to be utilized multiple times. Sorry to say, but that game wrapped itself up very neatly and we should be happy it's still playable at all, given how scummy some companies are being with their properties lately.
