These compositions remind me of music from the eighties, commonly referred to as "new age" music back then, from composers such as David Lanz and Paul Speer. David had one quite successful album, titled "Cristofori's Dream". It went gold. These compositions are accessible, relaxing, melodic, lyrical, and beautiful, just as those from the "new age" era were. What a wonderful video, Kim.

The tabakolva Nocturne really spoke to me . Laitman's nocturne 's performance really communicated the music's essence and depth . Tanaka's Water Dance is closer to my own composing idiom and my favorite here ! Funny that Walden's Ridge was the really American Prairie with Protestant church vibes thrown in American music I always say I know is in me but has never come out ! I hope I can get Anna to play some of my jazz and classical pieces !

Thank you for sharing this! I had to deliberately look up "female composers piano" for this to come up. The KZbin algorithm doesn't offer me anything in the way of female composers or pianists, but it shows me plenty of male composers/pianists (I'm not complaining, many of my favourites musicians are men! I do feel like it's harder to find women doing their own thing). I loved all these featured pieces and will look up each composer so I can listen more fully to their work.
