Classical music goes from 1750 to 1820 so the title is confusing. I would choose Bach (Brandenburg), Haydn (Missa Nelson) Mozart (Don Giovanni)

Thank you for the great input! I'm not familiar with Haydn piece but will listen to it.

I have so much admiration and respect for the way this trio works on stage, a lot of that comes from just a little bit of jealousy from being a solo songwriter and performer over the past 15 years but I really think it's great when musicians on stage have such an intimate relationship with a piece of music and how each other play. Nciely done! Love the violin 🎻!!

When the video shows it, watch her face. The more difficult the piece becomes, the brighter her face, the more engaged she becomes. She regards the piece and the medium (the piano) as a challenge and you can actually sense her thinking: "I don't fear this. I am playing it -- amazing -- whether you like it or not. You can't best me..."

That's a very interesting observation, I have never noticed it or thought of it, but I think you are right.

We have to take care and train our brain. Of course Yuja Wang is a phenomenal exception, but everybody has the potential to achieve great things by passion and training.

Great, but i would not include rach 2 or 3. Rach 1 is great. For great opening, it must be a cadenza (hence mozart or chopin did not make to the list(, even Saint saen 2 is a little weak, as it is still quite mild..... just like Saint saen 5

Well said, they’re great concertos, but there are others with better openings

I have made a list of the composers mentioned, except Berlioz. Here I go: Beethoven nr. 7; Mozart nr. 25, 31 (Paris) & 39; Shostakovich nr 7 & 8; Mahler nr. 1, 3 and 4; Brahms nr. 3; Dvorak nr. 8 and Tchaikovsky nr. 5. That also makes 12, haha.

Thank you for your time and the exceptional lists of symphonies! I love/like most of them, but there are some I'm not familiar with. I will listen to them in the near future.
@johannesbluemink4581Ай бұрын
How did I not mention Rachmaninoff nr. 2? I must have been day-dreaming, haha. If someone would say 'unlucky 13', than I'll swap this one with Schumann's 3rd.
@johannesbluemink4581Ай бұрын
'Greatest' is subjective, but I like your choices. And yet, I have 12 different symphonies, thus 12 different composers than this list: Vaughan Williams nr. 5; S. Tanayev nr. 4; S. Prokofiev nr. 5; E. Elgar nr. 1; F. Mendelssohn nr. 3 (Scottish); H. Hanson nr. 2 (Romantic); J. Sibelious nr. 2; F. Schubert nr. 9 (die Grosse); A. Bruckner Nr. 7 (or 4 or 9); Joseph Haydn nr. 104; Camille Saint-Saens nr. 3 (Organ Symphony); R. Schumann nr. 3 (Rheinische).
