I live in VA. My late husband saw an Eastern cougar in the back corner of the field where his mother and we live. There are trail cam photos from all over the Mid-Atlantic showing them. One of the main reasons they are deemed extinct is that if the states acknowledged their existence they would have to spend money on conservation of an endangered species.

NY times did an article about it being misindetified as a sub species when it isn't. There are cougars in VA, KY, TN, and more north. They get seen and heard they're just very far and few in-between

Funfact: Tasmanian tigers were not in fact a threat to livestock people in Tasmania at the time simply assumed that whenever a couple of their sheep went missing it was those damned evil tigers and would use the excuse to hunt them in gross excess, there are reports of people hunting dozens of them in just a single trip. Also depicting cavemen fighting wooly mammoths is kind of misleading because even though cavemen definitely met wooly mammoths, wooly mammoths also existed at the same time the great pyramids of giza were being built.

There have been numerous sightings of water moccasins in New Hampshire and Massachusetts over several Decades. Even my mother claimed that she was bitten by one when she was a teenager. I thought all these people were wrong because New England is not supposed to have these snakes. Then one day I was at a New Hampshire lake when I saw a large snake with a triangular head sunning it's self and a woman from the South said that it was a water moccasin. I photographed it and researched it when I got home. Sure enough, the shape of the head, the coloring and it's markings exactly matched the snake. It was not a common water snake, like nay sayers keep claiming. These claims need to be investigated because the venomous snakes are here.

Water snakes flatten their head to make it appear venomous/more dangerous than it actually appears. It’s very easy to mix up these two snakes. Go do some research on how to properly identify cottonmouths aka “water moccasins”. If you are correct report it to your local wild life authority.

Ok so, here something: the time when the lochness monster really got popular was the same year that the original king Kong movie came out, and in said movie it depicted a land full of dinosaurs. One of the dinosaurs in the movie was some form of long neck dinosaur residing in the water. This movie paired with old myths of a sea beast living in the Loch Ness sparked popularity in the subject. After the movie, multiple "sightings" of Nessie came around, but most of these "sightings" were just elephants from a circus that had come around during the mid-30s as well as large catfish in the lake. The infamous black-and-white image of the "head" of Nessie was actually just a toy boat with a rubber mold on top. So, what does all this mean? The Loch Ness monster does NOT exist.

I saw a family of Ivory Billed Woodpecker in the Bogue Chitto swamp near Enon, La. back in the 70's. They were nested near the top of the largest, dead cypress tree in the swamp. I used to hunt there often and I saw the birds come and go several times. We used to call them "Wooden-nannies." They may have gone extinct by now, but they were alive in the 70's.

Along the Peace River in Florida, at dawn while I was rinsing my face in the river, I saw a black puma drinking along the opposit bank. It was a large mountain lion sized cat. It got wind of me and turned and ran into the forrest, so I got a good look at it. It didn't appear to have leopard spots, but I may have missed that detail. It took years for anyone to believe me, until a park ranger said that black pumas were native from the west Florida coast up through the Gulf coast down into Mexico and Central America.

Many of these “extinct animals” are potentially still alive, it’s just the very few who have seen them or may even keep them in captivity do so under secrecy. Putting them in front page news will only put them at risk, they would have higher survival rates if less people know due to humans track record.

I've had a couple family members who have had mountain lion sightings , we live in Pennsylvania. Said sightings were in a very very rural area. Pennsylvania and the east coast in general has a lot of vast forest and rural places where there could easily be many mountain lions still thriving. 2:01: black leopards are just normal leopards that have an inheritatable mutation of the pigment cells, and not a species onto themselves or sub-species there-of, so it's IMPOSSIBLE for them to go extinct unless the leopard itself goes extinct because its a relatively common mutation in both leopards and jaguars.

I may have saw a ivory billed woodpecker before. I was sitting on my porch and saw it fly into a tree. When I saw it I didn’t think much of it and thought it was just another common woodpecker. And it’s last sighting is around were I live.

I doubt you would think an Ivory Billed Woodpecker was just another common woodpecker. The Ivory Billed stands almost 20 inches tall and has a wingspan of around 30 in. The woodpecker shown in this video is not an Ivory Bill. The woodpecker in this video is a Downy Woodpecker, it looks nothing like the Ivory Billed woodpecker.

In Oct 2022 I saw a cougar crossing the road just south of Bathurst New Brunswick Canada. Right color, definitely a feline about 100 lbs long tail about 40 feet away. Very easy identification.
