23:00 My grandfather had such a gun. Very durable. In the museum where this gun was made .. there is a gun by Yuri Tsuranov .. an eleven-time world champion in clay shooting .. His gun withstood 1,000,000 shots!

I have a SKB 605 from 1990,when I bought it from the gun shop that was closing down the owner said to me you’re an engineer look at how it’s been put together compared to a Beretta686 which was the same price and I thought it was better made.Still have it as my main game gun.

For 500£ i would buy that SKB in a heartbeat! Very nice gun!
@ekim0002 жыл бұрын
Absobloodylutely! Tank like 500 action with some added pretty. They really are quality things. My 505 was owned by a sponsored shooter who made national colours in the 90s. He shot it 'quite a bit' and it's still tight as a drum.

Jonny, if you weren't already loaded up with personally fitted O/U's, I'd buy that SKB and run like you stole it. I find the SKB locking system brutally elegant. Not the smoothest view from the rear, but definitely low profile. The "5" in the tail end of the model # denotes choke tubes, and a set of extended tubes would help counterbalance the butt a bit. Don't see many sideplate SKB's over here, either. I expect it'd fetch $1500 🇺🇸 or so.

Sussex Armoury is what became Air Arms, there was as much more conventional looking sporter version of the same side lever action. Possibly the most "remarkable" Sussex innovation was a sub-calibre pellet design called the "Sussex Sabo" - a .20 boat-tail projectile that fitted in a .22in discarding plastic sabot.
@tgsoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
We’re the sabots accurate?

@@tgsoutdoors The fluff in the magazines said so but then I don't think 1980s Airgun World ever said anything bad about anything - not even the early plastic air-cartridges. IIRC there were published figures for an increase in muzzle velocity but as the solid projectile was nearly as heavy as a standard hollow .22 I wonder if there weren't legal worries. They supposedly wouldn't work in my hand-me-down Airsporter because it was slightly choked (and anyway how do you clear an Airsporter if you get a lump of plastic stuck in the barrel?) so I never got to try them out. When I got a break-barrel a few years later and wanted to try them the design had already gone out of production.

I still have a box of those and the pen type installation tool,they were extremely fast and would go through both sides of a wooden beer crate at 30 yards.

Do a reveiw on the Ruger no1? I am from South Africa and am thinking of trying the bid on that one
@scottcrawford37452 жыл бұрын
If you can get one, and in a calibre you like, you'll love it and everything it represents. 1 shot. 1 kill. Inherently much shorter overall for comparable barrel lengths because of the short drop breechblock action. Super strong and safe. I have 3, and love them. If you're in S.A., try looking up a No.1 S in 9.3x62 ( My moose rifle). Shoots 1/3 MOA with Norma Factory Swift A-Frames. My other 2 are a .300 Win.Mag with a heavy 27" barrel and profiled muzzle-break for long-range Dall Sheep/ Mountain Goats or prairie pronghorns... and a No.1 RSI with a fullstock Mannlicher style stock in .275 Rigby/ 7x57 Mauser. It's a sweet little short bush-rifle, that's super easy to carry, and mount for fast shots at stalked bush whitetails. You won't regret your choice, if you're not just a hunter, but you're a marksman. 1 shot, kinda puts it all on the line. ( If you DO want that fast second-shot, get a wrist bandoleer made up in leather with good elastic or tight straps and keep 2 rounds on your offhand front/forearm-wrist area.
@kraaidievoel2 жыл бұрын
@@scottcrawford3745 jis I am envious of you! I would love to hunt Dall Sheep have read and seen much of them. I am defenitly looking out for a Ruger no 1 in 375h&h. Good day to you
@scottcrawford37452 жыл бұрын
@@kraaidievoel Dall and Bighorn are very similar, but the Dall are more wiley and clever, with much better eyesight. Usually at least a 250-300+ yard shot in breezy-windy mountainous terrain. Depending on the game rules in S.A., I've heard that most countries in Africa allow the 9.3x62 as a suitable equivalent to the .375 H&H for nearly all dangerous game... You might find a 9.3 easier to obtain than a .375. I'm not positive, but I think Ruger did a few Special Limited Editions in the ..375 Flanged and the 9.3x74R as well. Those offer comparable ballistics to the non-rimmed ones.. perhaps a 5% reduction in overall muzzle energy. Best of luck with your search.
