You hit the bullseye. The Rangeman is the best of the G-Shocks. It takes a lot of study to come to this conclusion because there are so many awesome G-Shocks but at the end of the day the 9400 is the best. Features vs $$s

I got the mud man compass, because I spend a lot of time hunting. It was a no brainer for me. It’s tuff ,water proof and has a compass!!

I love my Casio watches. I on the other hand have moved to tough solar Casio Watches. Never owned any G-Shocks as my everyday Casio MRW 300 tough solar , has been running since June 2014. I don't abuse watches, but I work hands on every day. Since owning a tough solar Casio, I won't even consider a non solar G-Shock or any of the non solar Casio watches.

Best watch I have ever owned is the Casio Pro-Trek tough solar. It's indestructible and reliable as hell... the resin band, however.... dont bother with a replacement resin band, either. Get a good silicone 22mm band and keep it in the light for a few minutes every day. Chances are, you'll never need (or want) to buy another watch for a few decades.

But It is NOT a tough solar & you have to charge It from time to time... 10X... I have an Iphone with even more features to charge It... I own and prefer the old fashioned GW-9400_J-1B Tactical Solar Atomic Blacked out. ;)
