I've honestly never had an issue with celebrity involvement in wrestling. It's just about presentation. If it sucks then I'll say it sucks, but if it draws eyes on the product and is entertaining, its 100% the right thing to do for the business. It just needs to be realistic and watchable, and you need to make sure, if that celeb does get in the ring, they're trained and rehearse diligently. And ideally they shouldn't win unless there's an out for the wrestler.

Bad Bunny’s match was great, I defended his inclusion because he’s been a wrestling his whole life and he doesn’t hide how much he loves it. Of course he was going to put on the best show possible. It helped that he actually went and trained with Booker T, who said he was making incredible progress. It was so much fun, and it helps when it’s a tag match and you can get three guys on the card who get a good rub from being involved with one of the biggest music artists in the world.

Pat McAfee's entire run in NXT made the rest of the roster look like chumps. He was charismatic and didn't sound like a robot when cutting promos(although he probably wasn't scripted like everyone else). CM punk said it himself: it's embarrassing that a rookie was more entertaining than most of the entire roster.

Could've honestly been okay with Bad Bunny's work being higher on the list. He really put in the work, and made for a match far more fun than any of us were expecting going in. McAfee 100% deserved the top spot, though. The way he also used his own radio/internet show to promote the feud, up to and including having Cole on his show to "start" the feud... Brilliant top to bottom. Bunny and McAfee are the gold standard.

I think it’s mutually agreed bad bunny didn’t have the BEST celebrity match, as that goes to Pat, but the best mania match. I think from a strict match point (not what it amounted to, or historical significance, but just in ring work) bad bunny was a better match then the mania matches put above him

He does, I feel across the board any time that match is mentioned, Bam Bam rightfully gets praise. Sadly WWE still did not see what they had in him. To me, he should have won the title at some point. A big guy with that kind of agility and in ring ability was not very common at all back then.

He looked better in that match, imo, and he also lost, which made sense. The surprise may have been gone, but I think Daniels vs Amell was just a better match, full stop.

Even as an American who loves American football, LT's inclusion was puzzling. I know Bruce Prichard has said things like "he was huge at that time" on his podcast, but that's simply not true. WCW did a much better job at capitalizing on the star power of Rodman and Malone a few years later and to be fair, so did WWE with Tyson. LT had already been retired for more than a year and while he was always famous, the absolute peak of his prime would have wrapped up sometime around 1990. The only potential advantage of including him was ticket sales, with a lot of Giants fans in that part of the country. But even in the US among big football fans, he wouldn't have had a ton of appeal outside of that NY/NJ/CT area.

Celebrity appearances become an issue for me when its so blatantly obvious that they were never wrestling fans to begin with so their involvement becomes horribly inorganic. (Pretty much anyone from that 2009 RAW guest host era) Guys like Shaq and Bad Bunny know and respect the business so you know that you're gonna get something organic in terms of their performance, more than willing to entertain us fans!
