I have the Superlux HD 668b phones with ModMic5 attached, the sound field is fantastic you hear things like they are behind you with stereo sound because of the semi-open design. You can pair the headphones at $40 with any mic so you can have great sound for way less cost, you just need a USB adapter to plug mic and headphones into if you are on a console. All told I spent about $130 on my setup, but that was with the top quality microphone.

I have Astro A50s but man the Astro A10s are so much more reliable they don't need to charge and convenient, just plug, play, hear and chat. EXTREMELY DURABLE too. Normally $60 but $47 right now during Black Friday weekend. EDIT: Just finished the video and I'm so glad the Astro A10 are number 1. They work great on the Switch too. I scooted my A50 to the side for these reliable puppies. Best headphones for under $100 no doubt.

+Tyler Hoagland Personally , i would recommend the HyperX Cloud Stinger , they are very adjustable in terms of head and/or ear size and they are very comfortable you can wear for hours at a time and still not sweat. They are wired and have a pretty darn good mic and there's an adustable volume slider on the right cup . And they go for 50 US$ , you can find 'em on sale for like 35-40 on amazon .Seriously recommend them.

That's not mechanical though. I have one as my backup, and while it's a great keyboard, the lack of mechanical switches is night and day for a lot of people (myself included). There are a decent number of budget mechanical boards on Amazon for under $100, though most of them have knockoff switches, so I can't speak for their quality.

I use the HyperX Cloud 2 like the one recommended in this video and I also recommend it. Easily one of the best headsets on the market right now. I bought them after testing my brothers A50s(The most expensive Astros.) The Cloud 2 is better build quality, more comfortable, is much less of a hassle to setup, and is pretty close to the same sound quality. The only things better about Astros are their design and the software they offer.

@ Callym Beukes Yeah - it is ok. I was expecting something better. The sound doesn't seem to have the depth/bass of a good set of headphones, but the reviewer did make a point to indicate that there is a certain degree of compromise when you have a device that does both sound and mic. If you're expecting fantastic sound, I probably wouldn't go with the A10, but then you'll need to move into a higher price bracket. It also feels quite heavy on my head. Overall, a little bit disappointed, but short of wanting a refund for it.

Got the a10s for my first headset @ $47 on Black Friday. They are worth it. The build quality feels good and expect to have these for a while. For a first time headset user they do feel heavy after a couple hours.

I'm using a Turtle Beach XP22. It's a great headset. It costs around $85. It has noise cancelling, a good mic with background noise cancelling, the option to mute the mic, and control over bass, treble, volume of your mic audio, volume of others their mic audio and device volume control (does not affect the volume of the mic of others). I've been using it for about 4-5 years now and if you take good care of it, it'll stick with you for a super long time and you'll really get your money's worth.

The Arctis series from Steel Series are probably the most comfortable and nice looking headsets I've ever owned and one of the more affordable too, without being super cheap and flimsy/small like the turtle beach headphones... Also, you can buy different bands for the headband that make them look pretty cool. The sound is pretty good on the Arctis 3's, but of course it is quite a bit better on the 5 and 7's, it just depends on how much you want to pay... The comfort is unrivaled though and I have a hard time finding any comfortable headphones.

I went from Turtle Beach 420x to the LS20s and the difference is awesome. The LS20s are a strong and well built headset with pretty good sound. One of the biggest benefits is with glasses, it wont hurt like hell for long gaming sessions, and you don't have to have the boom mic plugged in. It comes with a built in mic and has great voice quality. The boom mic that comes with it is really just optional when needed for louder games where voice chat is key. I personally rarely use it, except for recently with WWII.
