Aw, man, The Coffee Table! For those who like their humor (?) *pitch-black*. But SO well done. As an exercise in tension, alone! I was on the edge of my seat throughout. What a ride! 😎👍

Got this recommend on another Ghost pirate video and man i was not disspointed. The tension builds to unbearable levels. Well done movie but will admit the scene when shit hits the fan was so damn dreadful! My wife is not really a fan of foreign language movies but was really engaged with this one.

I heard the buzz about this but had no idea what it was about. I recommended it to my daughter and husband. Then I watched it. I immediately told them not to watch it ever! They are expecting their first baby soon... Lol
That dialogue in the beginning about the coffee table was the best thing of 2024.

I sometimes feel like I’m cheating on Darren van dam when I’m watching these, but I feel like you have a totally different set of recommendations than he has and I really enjoy your content. Last night I watched the first omen on your recommendation and I was absolutely blown away. I still can’t get over how excellent it was!! I’m definitely going to watch it a second time in case I missed anything. But yeah, really love your content and just keep it going. Thanks so much for keeping us busy with the great recommendations.

Really glad you liked Infested. I mentioned it in some comments before you had access to it and you pretty much agree with my assessment, it’s quite gritty and realistic for a good while and that worked for me too. I watched Stop-motion on your recommendation and that was very effective. You’ll Never Find Me was compelling too. I’ve got some films I’m really looking forward this year - you’ve already covered Longlegs and Cuckoo, which I’m yet to see. Then I’m waiting for Robert Eggers’ ‘Nosferatu’ - can’t wait for that!!

The Coffee table was brutally grim and dread inducing, seeing the walls close in around Jesus as the movie progressed was at times unbearable. Definitely a movie that's an acquired taste but I thought it was absolutely fantastic and one of the best releases this year. Great video and thanks for the recommendations!

You should not have to apologize for any recommendations you make. You are the only person that delivers a comprehensive guide to horror movies. I personally enjoy the more fucked up movies and i would be very sad if you didn't include these in your sub-genre variety. I think it's rather impressive the way you cover all subgenres so open-mindedly. You do you booboo!

I respect the coffee table, but I don't know if I would ever watch it. I would love too, I think it looks a brilliant film, but it would haunt me and I'm not in the right head space for that type of haunt. However I have seen other people say they must be watching a different film as it didn't bother them 😂 It just deals with subjects that I would personally find upsetting and I don't need to be more upset atm lol

I enjoyed Out of Darkness very much. My son wanted to go watch a movie and we googled what wasplaying. We never heard of the movie but the trailer sold us. It was beautiful. Atmospheric. The story drew us in. I was not happy with the Geico cavemen, when they did appear. The makeup/prosthetics were distracting. But overall, we left the theatres talking about really deep things. You know...about life, survival, family, etc. Edit: oooh I was so mad about Oddity. When it came out, I was set on watching it. I asked my son if he wanted to go watch. He said: Not tonight. Maybe tomorrow. It was super hot and he just wanted to stay home in the AC. Well, the next day, I got the same response. So i decided to watch it on my day off. It was no longer in theatres. 😢

Hey Kainan, I've been a follower for a few weeks and I have to say I really like your style and content. I love horror films but also I love discovering new gems so I want to thank you for your recommendations. Your lists are always full of things that look worthwhile. Particularily recently you reminded me of The Coffee Table, which I watched. I have to say, from comments I've noticed that the humor in that movie is totally lost on people who don't speak Spanish. The use of funny Spanish regionalisms is lost on translation. That might explain the reactions you got. So yeah, thank you and keep it going dude. You're doing amazing.

@GhostPirateEntertainmentАй бұрын
Not yet exactly but it seems people come to me to find new things. So it makes it tough to do videos like that
@brandywoods1227Ай бұрын
@@GhostPirateEntertainment I can understand that. The new stuff seems plenty abundant to keep you busy, and doing throwbacks may not garner as many views if only the old-timers want to watch. There's no way I'd be able to make any kind of content as multi-generational as you have. You're very impressive. And it's like you say, we're living in a great time for horror
@zethraelofteldrassil3149Ай бұрын
Such great choices here. I have seen 7/10 and of those, a huge Highly Highly Recommend to "What You Wish For", "Lowlifes", "Oddity", and "You'll Never Find Me". I started "Stopmotion" and turned it off. Did not interest me in the least. "The Coffee Table" was a $6.99 rent from Prime, only because I just HAD to see what all the buzz was about. I should have taken the money and drove to Dunkin' Donuts for a coffee and a muffin. Even though horror and comedy DO NOT belong in the same sentence, I'll give "Destroy All Neighbors" a look, since it is on Shudder. Great list, Kainan. Thank you for putting it together. *An aside here for Kainan and the Ghost Pirate Army* - my subscription for Shudder runs out in Sept., and I'm seriously considering canceling. I think the selection is worse than it's ever been. "The Devil's Bath" was the last movie even worth talking about. Is it only me that thinks Shudder has taken a big nose dive the past year? I was paying $55/year, and now it's up to $73. IMO, a decent, new movie posting, maybe every 2 1/2 months, is not worth the cost. Are there any alternative horror channels worth subbing to? Thank you, Kainan and everyone, for your opinions.

Stop Motion and Oddity are HIGH on my list of much watch movies (as is Caveat), though I fear I won't get a chance to see either soon. I Saw the TV Glow... I want to see it. Those kids remind me of me and the way I obsessed over my favorite shows in high school (mostly). I already empathize with them based on the trailers, but trailers can be misleading. I have a feeling that I will hate it, but I'm going to watch it anyway. Fingers crossed.
