Botania, Blood Magic, Occultism, Mana and Artifice, Bewitchment and Astral Sorcery all qualify and are awesome. And ignoring the version, Old Thaumcraft, Ars Magica 2 and The Witcher Mod are to this day the best magic mods, sadly still in 1.7.10

There's actually a new addon for TC6 called Thaumic Augmentation that adds back all of the old bosses from TC4 better than ever, along with tons of other useful focus effects and items that blend in seamlessly with vanilla TC. I think it came out in April of 2023, so it's super new.

It's not for 1.20, I don't think, but Hex Casting is easily one of the most versatile and engaging magic mods I've seen. It's also one of the only magic systems I'd call "Turing complete".

you seriously did Mahou Tsukai dirty my dude. did you really review the newer versions? because it LOOKED like you reviewed the 1.12 version - which is Mahou at its most janked form. it actually gotten much better by 1.20.1 If ya dont have the patcience to build upto the larger spells mana wise just to give it a proper review - then use the commands that are in the mod to increase your max mana to 50,000 - you'll have plenty then to screw around with every spell and see their actual potential. like the ball you used on the golem for example - the spell is called "Gandr" - and it does more damage based how much max mana you have, and any negative effects your currently suffering from when using the spell will be copied onto the target. (provided the shot doesn't kill them first!) --just having a max mana of 5,000 is enough to one shot a golem with that spell! - when ya stat out with the mod there are ways to build up your max mana fairly quick until ya hit the 1,000 max mana mark, and at that point Gandr is doing 10 damage per hit. Ya wont get better projectile damage then that in vanilla mindcraft unless ya cheat and give a crossbow the Power 5 enchantment!
