Do top 3D Platformers of all time next? .. I wanted to love Dark Dawn. It’s the only game I’ve ever preordered. But it felt like they emphasized all of the weakest elements of Golden Sun. The cutscenes go on for ages, and those chibi overworld models lack expression.

DQ IX mulstiplayer was awesome :D but Chrono Trigger on DS does have the PS1 cutscens. You can switch them on or off in the menue (and there aren't that many to beginn with)

Sad but not surprised that Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey didn't make your list. Game not for everyone but it's by far my number one. Had one of the coolest settings, beats out any persona game as far as the atmosphere imo

Bowser's Inside Story is a great game - I was shocked to see anything but The World Ends with You at number 1. My personal #1 would be Radiant Historia. Solid list of games overall (Shadow Dragon is kind of terrible, but to each their own).

DS is probably my favorite game device of all time. Had the white DS Lite and it was my primary handheld for about 7 years. Lots of GBA on it too. The FF Tactics game and Bowser's Inside Story are the only games from the list that I played though.

Buying a console, buying a game separately for an old platform, sometimes it costs more than games on Steam, technical features such as screen resolution, lack of good localization, as well as other reasons. On modern platforms with a good re-release, bought, launched and no problems, no running around looking for a console for the sake of some one game. For the sake of several games, you don't need to have several consoles that take up space. Not everywhere you can buy games for the classic console. Moreover, they can make a native resolution if it's a remaster make the visuals better. And if it's a pixel art remake, it's even better. Some games are reissued, unfortunately not always of high quality, and they also make remasters that sell well.Well, and finally, I can add to one of the reasons bugs blocking the passage, yes, this happened on classic consoles, in the re-release bugs are usually fixed.

I agree. HG/SS do not hold up nearly as well as B/W/B2/W2 especially with the sudden 15+ level jump between the 8th gym and E4 in Johto and not enough trainer xp to make up the gap so you end up having to farm wild battles for hours.

I find BW2 much better than HGSS. More fun selection of Pokemon, better OST, better QOL changes like repeatable TMs, better postgame with the PWT and tower challenges instead of HGSS’s horrible level curve, just overall a tighter polished game. HGSS is great but I think if it didn’t have the nostalgia factor people would see BW2 as a better game. Also I’d say RF3 belongs on this list.

I do not see Solatorobo as a RPG and say either an Etrian Odyssey game, Darkspire or a Shin Megami Tensei game rather deserved that spot. Also Dragon Quest 5 > 9 every day!

As someone who loves shadow dragon.. do yourself a favour and dont play it. Play FE: Mystery of the Emblem with the English patch instead if you want a DS FE. But if you want a great retro FE, play FE7 or FE8 for the GBA instead
