I love your voice mam and I started watching this at 9pm and it is now 12:26am. I kept falling asleep and the cell phone kept falling and hitting my arm hard or my chest one time my forehead. If I let it go until tomorrow I might not find it again. I love all these DIY and I am hoping by next summer to buy my own little house and my must haves and a prayer to Jesus even though we are not to ask, I am hoping for an outside porch or at least a deck. Your wood pot holders I think would be cool too with a lid on top with hinges to keep things inside and make a cushion for the top to use as another seat or no cushion and use as a table. I have always wanted a table saw too. I admire women so much that know their way around woodworking. I taught my Dad how to fix his breaks years ago on his 64 Chevy and I I stalled a new starter for him and did body work on the Chevy but, I sure would love to learn how to use wood working tools other than a miter box. My grandmother for years tried to teach me how to make the crochet rugs she and her mom use to make but she always said my index finger was out too far or it was too tight and they ended up looking like bun covers for your hair. I so want to learn how to crochet. She ripped strips of cotton less than one inch wide and used a crochet hook. I have actually made a necklace with your fabric twist technique but used yarn and mini jingle bells twisted in. It was a summer school project when I was 12 and I still have it. Myth has it, the twisting of fabric goes back to the American Indians with bells intertwined together. They would attach it to the cloth that draped over the cribs of the babies and if evil spirits touched the cloth over the crib the bells would wake up the parents. I cannot recall for the life of me what the chain was called but it was for protection. When SIDS came about more often in the USA with infants, some nationalities hung bells on their mobiles over the crib and the bells were called Angel Callers. Lots of superstition played a part in that I believe. I sure wish my mom was alive because I definitely want to make your twisted fabric idea and put it around a lot and I think if my mom saw this post she would be so in love with it. I am a pot lady meaning, I LOVE FLOWER POTS. I would rather shop for pots than go to Macy's for clothes. When my mom use to come over to my former residence and see by my balcony glass all my plants, she was not amazed by the jungle of plants but, by the amount of colorful pots. I would get a lecture too about spending money but, done I found at yard sales or at The Dollar Tree or on sale only at gardening shops. My mom passed away a year ago July 26th from Pancreatic Cancer. My mom was a big crafter when she was younger and she loved to tole paint and make pillow cases from fabric and then witt Tri Kem she would put children's names in them. My mom loved to garden and we would work in the yard together even when she was sick and when she napped on the day bed on her porch I would quitely sit at a large round table my dad made in the 1960s and make crafts with my glue gun and many supplies. My grandmother had a fabric shop for close to 30 years and I am sad that my aunt took all the boxes of very cool vintage buttons and some modern buttons as, all the boxes of them were left to my sister and I in writing because back then I was known as the button girl. But, I have tons of fabric left after the large sale when the shop closed. A few recently have said that fabric goes bad after awhile but, I figure I am still wearing dresses I sewed for the summer that I made 15 years ago. The hens are intact, the stitches are strong the zippers are strong so how bad could fabric on a bolt be? Waste not want not. I am not selling the "old" fabric, I use it to make pillows for my mom's porch and curtains for my bathroom and kitchen. I know rayon and knits go bad but I do not think cotton does. But, maybe it does. All I know is I have plenty of fabric to tare into strips to cover a plain Jane pot. I am excited for this new idea. If it comes out nice I will post it on Instagram and give you a shout out. I did not mean to write a novel. Thanks for wonderful ideas. Fondly, Rebekah in VA

I already love the pot covers and I haven’t gotten any farther! Do you have a list of your basic tools and saws! I have a bunch, but only use my multi tool and a cordless drill (even to plant!) I need small things because I’m extremely tiny! Thank you! I have to add that sometimes Michaels, Joanne’s, or whatever, has decorative pillows on sale periodically, and they can be cheaper than the inserts. (I’m a sewer, so I look or bargains!

Thanks for so many simple ideas to spruce up a deck. It just feels weird putting out spring decor wearing winter jackets and gloves.

Love that mosquito repellant hanger! Perfect for summer camping without using electricity. I imagine the dissipated heat, from the fire bowl below, helps activate the ingredients in the essential oils. Great idea!!

Is the round plant on the planter box real or artificial? If artificial where did you purchase?

It's artificial from The Real Canadian Superstore years ago.
