The Novablast 5 is, IMO, the best version yet. That FF Blast Max is the real deal. I hope that it stays like that for the life of the shoe (350+ miles).

This category of shoes has become my favorite. The Hyperion 2 and Cyclone 2 were speed-only shoes for me, but now they see duty as lightweight dailies. As Robbe said of the Brooks, both shoes disappear on foot and give you that pure running feel. The Mach 5 was similar for me, but the Brooks and Topo are more streamlined and feather-light. Some great competition in this category.

Great review, thanks for hitting the price point. 1) SL2, almost love them, but zero support of any kind, my feet roll inward on these. Hope it’s not an Adidas characteristic! 2) Evo SL and Neo getting great reviews, but just $10 more you can get Deviate Nitro 3, one of my faves over the past few years 3) I was interested in Cyclone, but tons of customer reviews warning about upper disintegration/separation, not unlike Rebel 2 and Peg Turbo 4) Would’ve liked to see new Adios 9 in this 5) Ghost Max gives elite mall-walking show vibes; glad to see other Brooks designs and colorways hitting the mark Totally relate to running in sand comment, re super soft shoes. Seems like comparo needed of Mach 6, Rebel 4, Evo SL, Neo.

A bit surprised about the ON, it doesn't sound appealing on paper with its weight, stability elements and lack of positive feedback in general. Maybe a section of "almost made it, costs 155" for the ride 17 etc would've been nice b/c 5 more bucks won't break the bank. Great video 👍

Shocked that Robbe called the Rebel V3 a miss. The BITR review gave it solid green. Kofuzi, Yowana, Run Testers, Fordy, and Doctors of Running all gave it positive reviews. I bought 3 pairs and have loved them. One of my favorites for daily to uptempo miles up to around 10 miles. So bouncy and comfortable and fun to run in. I haven’t tried the V4 so I can’t comment but I felt compelled to speak out for the Rebel V3. Robbe is entitled to his opinion and obviously he didn’t like it but no way the V3 was a miss.

I put 329 miles on a pair of V3's loved them, came off of the V2's and now I have a pair of V4's love the New Balance Rebel line.

I don't get it either. The V4 is a great shoe, but it doesn't have the uptempo feel anymore. You could pick up the speed, but not like you could in V3 and V2. The big improvement I have found in the V4 is durability.

Maybe Rebel v3 wasn’t as good as it could have been for 2022, but thinking it’s a miss might just be forgetting how much running shoes have improved over the last 6 years. Compared with the popular Epic React 2 from 3 years earlier, Rebel v3 is better in every way, imo. Nike made a mistake in not continuing and improving the Epic.

In 2021 I bought the Ride 13 for $130. So $150 in 2025 doesn’t seem high to me. And even though I liked that shoe, it’s midsole feels ancient compared to the latest shoes in the daily trainer category.

I’m with you. Robbe calling the Rebel V3 a miss was outrageous. He is entitled to his opinion but he is off there. I loved it so much I bought 3 pairs. Super bouncy, light, comfortable, durable, and fun. The V4 may be great, but I haven’t tried it. But the 3 was a winner, clearly not a miss.

I love my rebel v3, tried the v4 in store but didn't really love it on feet because of the fit. They made it too wide. 😢 The Mach 6 however has an almost perfect fit, really liked that shoe when I first tried it on but went for the upgrade as you mentioned which is the Mach X2. Currently my most expensive shoe in my rotation and most fun shoe to run in ❤ Adidas Adizero SL2 is definitely the best overall in terms of the whole package you're getting for the price. I bought mine for 50% off when it went on sale last November. I believe the Puma Velocity Nitro 3 is also worth mentioning, the fit is really nice I kind of prefer it over the SL2 but SL2 has the superior midsole cause of Lightstrike Pro.

Pretty sure Rebel V3 was still a hit and V4 is a miss. They turned a daily trainer / tempo shoe into what is now just a daily trainer.

@@soltour87 don't get me wrong, it's a great shoe, but just not we all expected from a Rebel shoe. It is a completely different shoe based on its feel and purpose now. I guess it is because they made the super comp line up, they had to change what the Rebel was.

either you're so light or run not fast enough to put on force to make the foam bounce. Rebel is the most fun daily trainer I had since Skechers go run ride 7 @ 80kg

@@andregaboTV I'm not sure I follow that logic. Wouldn't heavier runners sink in more than light runners? I feel like I just sink in with no rebound. I'm about 74 kg.

@@bbartel1978 it means it stiffer than modern foams and might need more force to make it rebound. For example novablast 2, i just sink in those and heel is too high. do you heel strike using rebel 4? If you see the cut in half of these shoes , its highest point is the midfoot so it bounces from that point the most. and will probably just sink if you mainly heelstrike at easy pace.
