I've been blown away by my Mach 6. Does everything and fast. Just gets out of the way and has been fine for me even going 30km long runs. I wanna rotate my shoes but then I wanna put the Mach 6 on for everything from easy to hard
@Guijcm5 сағат бұрын
How has the durability been? I've been seriously considering the Mach 6, but everywhere I read people complain about short durability and lifetime, and that's a very general sentiment I read online about Hoka shoes, so I'm on the edge.

Last half of the year NB 860v14 has been my main daily trainer. It runs very well at a variety of paces. My only concern is durability. The outsole is wearing much faster than the Saucony shoes -Ride 16 and Triumph 20 - that took most of my volume before the 860 came along.
@shahzadmalik843513 сағат бұрын
I've done over 600km on the NB 860v14s . Chose these for stability in a running shop after gait analysis. Used for all runs as trained for my first half marathon and the race itself. Been trust worthy and still doing the business as they approach 700km. Still have life for easy runs for sure. Will probably go for the Adizero SL2 next

Hi, Yowana. I just wanted to say I'm a beginner runner who picked up the habit 2 weeks ago. I find your your videos incredibly helpful and informative. You've earned another subscriber. Keep up the great work. Your videos are very motivational and have inspired me to want to be consistent with daily mileage and slow cardio progression even though it's only 5 K per day. I have literally picked up almost every shoe you talk about in all your videos. About 10 shoes in total. Make that 11 with the Puma Deviate Nitro 3 when I get a chance to get it. I've ran so much in the last 2 weeks, I now have shin splints and waiting to recover. I am proud of the work you have put into being a professional running enthusiast. Excellent work.

Been usind DN3 as a daily trsiner. its great at easy paces, comfy and great grip. Ive run faster sessions it and its ok, but love it for easy cruising. The plate is pretty flexible and has a nice comfy ride. I totally agree with ur views on plates btw. There are lots of unplated shoes stiffer than plated ones. Hoka mach 6 vs endorphin speed 4 for example.

I’ve got the Magmax with me on a week long holiday right now, but it’s all outdoor running and no speed work this week. Base building with a mix of easy and tempo. If I were gone for longer, then I probably would’ve brought the Velocity Nitro 3 with me. But with my calves on the tighter side right now as I increase my mileage, I valued the extra protection more than a speed workout (only do once a week usually).

I appreciate your definition of a daily trainer: shoes that you can use for any part of your training program. I think there really only needs to be two types of shoes: daily trainers and race-day shoes. I don't really buy into the idea that you need 4-5 pairs of shoes in your rotation. To me, tempo shoes, recovery shoes, long-run shoes, max cushion shoes are not necessary categories. These days I think many, many shoes can be used as daily trainers, meaning that they can cover all those catgories. Of course, everyone is free to buy as many pairs of shoes as they want and put them in as many categories as they want. But I don't understand the type of thinking that says your tempo-run shoes need to be at least an ounce lighter than your daily trainers.

This is my favorite category. I've taken the Adizero SL2 and the Deviate Nitro 2 on vacation and both were great. I do think a solid outsole is important for that test because you never know what you're going to encounter. I would 💯 use the MiniMag for a one shoe as well. Novablast 4 would have been the perfect shoe if Asics made it with the more substantial outsole. I have had a real issue finding a daily trainer partly due to a knee issue that is more of a nuisance than anything but I have narrow feet and max cushion shoes don't always work hence not dally trainers. I am currently using the Pacer V2 for most of my runs. I am trying the Adidas SL 2 but I do not like the high drop. The Pacer is probably the highest I can stand and it does not seem to bother me. I actually ripped out the insole on the SL2 and put in an old insert from a pair of Rebel 2 with some padded mole skin under the arch. I am going to try them again. I am thinking that the Balos could be a daily trainer. I have done longer runs and short runs and picked up the pace during runs and the shoe did ok. I changed out the insole for one less thick so I could take advantage of the midsole foam which is good stuff. The Rebel V3 was a good daily trainer and if the V4 were not so wide in the arch area it would be good for that as well though not as cushioned. I may try the 860 since your review of it seemed to hit all the areas I have to consider. This was a good review.

Surprised to see the Deviate on this list. Here's why: It's in the speed trainer category. You had a certain attitude about this category a couple months ago, preferring to train in top-end race shoes for many workouts. I am looking forward to a best of in that category. I wonder about Brooks plated trainer compared to Magic Speed, this Puma, etc.
@derringera14 сағат бұрын
That kinda contributed to his point about people having different categories despite using the same names. Just like how, as far as I'm concerned, the 1080 can't be in a daily trainer category because it's way too squishy.
