It was absolutely, savagely difficult, “Rivers In the Desert” fit so well for the music, it had this charm of getting to fight these characters you’ve come to love, and if you messed up, they break out an All-Out Attack that’s supposed to be YOUR thing and takes you completely off guard. I spent weeks grinding in preparation and the yiazmat fight literally took 8 hours straight of play to grind his 250 million hp down to 0. Omega MKII wasn't too bad but it would one shot a max level characters frequently. Final Fantasy XII is so under rated I feel. There was so much to do and most of it was hidden for you to discover and figure out on your own. It was so exciting when you stumbled across a rare game, monster, boss, or whole new area you didn't know existed and the quest lines were quite extensive. A grand adventure for all time.

You have to hopp off an elevator in the middle of the ride, find an illusory wall and drop down a hole behind an altar to get to him. And as a bonus: If you defeat him you unlock the ability to become a Dark Souls Boss yourself for other players to defeat. A cool new feature they added in the dlc.

A few noteworthy secret bosses I can think of would be Mephorash and Melaiduma from Ys VIII. The first can be found in the Silent Tower dungeon, which can *only* be unlocked if you find and rescue every castaway in the game. Meanwhile, the other is found at the very end of the game's *extremely long* postgame dungeon, the Adol's Era version of the Sanctuary Crypt, which itself features rematches against earlier bosses in addition to stronger variants of regular enemies. Both fights will take a lot of time to complete due to various factors, including the boatloads of health each boss has and the hard-to-dodge attacks that they have, but trust me... as someone who fought and defeated both of those bosses... it's worth it.

I was really hoping Dullahan from Golden Sun: The Lost Age would be on here, considering you had to find every djinn in both games to face him, and holy hell, was he difficult.

The severed head of Pamela Voorhees from Friday The 13th on NES definitely deserved to be mentioned. It's probably one first examples of an optional hidden boss fight.

Since I saw "Illusion of Gaia", I figured you'd put in "Your Cleanliness" from "Secret of Evermore", if you manage to open the locked door in the final level, you face him.

i accidantly found that boss when i was a kid, you are the first person i see mentioning him after me :) I can´t remember the code anymore tho, it was something like blue blue red green?? Edit: Weird i thougt i used the code on multiple occasions but wiki says the code is random D:

I would like it if Jules would add in the optional boss fights "Millionaire's Bane" "Reverent" and "O.D" from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night whenever the Comment Edition of this video happens. "Millionaire's Bane" is literally a possessed slot machine who attacks not only by trying to crush you but by spinning the reels and attacking according to the results of the spin. "Reverent" is an undead Simon Belmont, using a flame whip, boomerang, dagger, and throwing ax. and "O.D." is literally Alucard, voiced by the original voice actor from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Robert Belgrade. All of these bosses are all references to the death of the Castlevania series, as Konami abandoned making video games and opted to go into the slot machine business using what remains of their IP.

The kicker with the Flemeth battle is that even if you win, you haven't killed her. She gets Hawke, the protagonist of Dragon Age II, to take an amulet containing part of her essence during the prologue. The ritual done with it allows Flemeth to respawn outside Ferelden. Since the ritual happens after the events of Origins, Morrigan, the Grey Warden, and their allies are all going about their business thinking she's dead while she's still running around plotting and scheming.

Which turns out, Flemeth might nit be as bad as we thought... Or she might be worse. She might not be a God herself, but the way she speaks of them and that she gave the idea to Morrigan to bind a god's soul to a living vessel makes me think that she has witnessed bith the rise and fall of these so called gods.

#1 reminds you of a Bloodborne boss because he is just a flaming version of the Cleric Beast. I'm surprised you didn't include at least one secret boss from the Dark Souls series. There are so many great ones.

I fought those 2 secret bosses in FFXII years ago and I never did beat either of them . The gear combinations it took to sustain a fight with either were just crazy hard to level up unless u wanted to grind for literally longer than it takes to beat the the game 3 times doing every possible side quest

Akuma was mentioned (SSF II Turbo), but Q from Street Fighter III 3rd Strike is a pretty cool side character to fight against.

idk I think the secret boss in Indivisible was pretty neat but also tough as it goes through 9 different life bars and gets bigger and strong each time you take down a life bar

Didnt know about secret boss in Illusion of Gaia. Definitely have to go back and try it.

This is the 3rd one of these hard boss videos ive watched, and STILL no mention of Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts, an optional secret boss i have never been able to beat

Thank you for mentioning illusion of Gaia. I absolutely love that game and no one's ever heard of it....

The fact Ultima Weapon from VIII was mentioned over Ozma in IX who is a boss you literally had to a look all over the world for hints to find his location and then go to HEAVEN to fight him is kinda wild to me.

From this one's understanding, the one called demon of hatred from Sekiro, is a necessary boss. Not hidden. Meaning you must fight it to progress at all. Having not played past the flaming bull/raging Bull, this one could be mistaken. Though it does seem as not a hidden boss

The Ancient Dragon from Dark Souls 2: You don't need to go there, but you do. You don't need to aggro him, but you do. You don't want to die repeatedly until you finaly kill him, but you do. Same goes for Darkeater Midir in DS3, only without the aggro part. However, this time you actually have to go look for it and then say "ummm... now why did I just do that in the first place...? Oh right, Dark Souls, gotcha!"

Golden Sun had some amazing secret bosses. Very underappreciated

I adored Illusion of Gaia back in the day on SNES. It was annoying though to track down all fifty gems since it’s so easy to pass them by, plus without online tutorials, I had to contact the Nintendo help line for certain ones. Bear in mind you don’t have access to the whole map at all times. Certain areas you can never return to once you leave. I imagine nobody found them all without a guide.

#8 I definitely found & beat. Took me one or two tries. I just wish the Eden summon you get from it was just as powerful but NOT SO FREAKIN' LENGTHY!!!

#4 I also got. Mopped the floor with her. Seriously, if you can kill the High Dragon elsewhere in the game, she's a pushover.

Emil in Neir Automata. Some work intensive prerequisites and the fight itself is insane. Especially on hard without the lock-on function.

How about Dullahan from Golden Sun: The Lost Age? You have to find all the elemental Djinn across both games to even enter the dungeon he's in

Alex Curtis I only clicked on the video on the off-chance that Dullahan would be mentioned. One of my favourite bosses in any game.

Yozora from KH3 should be here. Sure, you don't "search" for him, but you need to defeat many other superbosses to reach him.

Easy way to kill Flemith, use your strongest cold spells and cold arrows, also use mass healing spells as well
