I have to disagree with the idea that we will see a significant uptick in the resale market. For starters, they need to target the mainstream, not sneakerheads. Also, the resale market heats up when supply can’t keep up with demand, and drops when there’s too much supply. I think Nike is going to try release more desirable models and colorways in general, but also in increased numbers. Any excess demand that helps resale is a foregone original sale that Nike is not able to make. For example, Nike could not have really make any money from the extremely limited 4 RMs (Grandma’s Driveway). Nike needs to up production numbers to be able to increase sales and that increase in supply will inevitably lower the resale value. Extremely limited runs increase hype, but decrease sales and profitability.
