Weiter so! Ich bin auf die nächsten innovativen Produktionen von Eddie Nünning mehr als gespannt. Reinhard

Very nice. I think having the guitar hold it all together sounds great I've been thinking about how to use my guitar synth with a cover band and have heard that audiences sometimes don't like hearing (and seeing) straight synth piano or sax coming from a guitar player because of what they are used to. I think your approach sounds great and would go over well with any audience.

Thanks a lot. Playing synth sounds on the guitar still runs the risk of sounding a bit cheesy if you don’t do the imitated instrument complete justice as far as the sound and playing technique are concerned. I only began playing piano without the guitar sound on my MIDI guitar in 2017 after discovering the great Pianoteq software with its very convenient playability and convincing sounds. Other instruments like saxophone are just beginning to sound original when you use Soundpaint or the SWAM engine iteration. Anyway I hope you‘ll be able to put your MIDI guitar to good use in your cover band.

This is one of the most musical and beautiful ways I have seen this pedal used. Keen for sitar sounds, cello sounds, double bass for bass guitar, octave modulation. I think this is a must need pedal for my board. I presume this could do everything EHX Mel pedal can do and more.

Thanks - I‘m glad you like it. This synth is indeed extremely versatile and can do the things you are looking for and lots more. If you use it as a MIDI converter with a computer the possibilities grow exponentially.

hi midi guitarist! great video! great playing! i have a nylon string with rmc polydrive. how are you connecting your polydrive to the synth unit? are you using the rmc subsonic filter?
@midiguitarist4140 Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, thanks - I‘m glad you like it. You need to get the separate GKC-AD converter & the BGK serial cable by BOSS, then you connect the 13-pin cable to the GKC and from there you run the BGK cable to the GM-800. I don’t use the RMC subsonic filter - I think they took care of that problem inside the GM as you can choose your pickup type to RMC and set the low velocity cut to your liking.

Thanks! Is there anyway I can raise or lower the volume of a patch without dealing with the part volume? I couldn’t figure that out.
@midiguitarist41402 ай бұрын
There is a „Master“ parameter called „Scene Level“ - there you can adjust the volume of each scene. As I use BOSS Tone Studio, I can’t exactly tell you where to find inside the GM menu. I hope that helps anyway. 🍀👍

@@midiguitarist4140 Thanks. I was hoping there would be 1 volume adjustment for all the 4 parts / scenes put together.

Hello, I am also a gm 800 user, if I want to download more timbre, such as a family instrument, where can I download it? This question bothers me. Thank you

Hi and thanks for watching. You can download the Roland Cloud Manager via this link: www.roland.com/global/products/rc_roland_cloud_manager/ From there you can choose the sounds you want to purchase. I hope that helps and wish you lots of fun playing MIDI guitar!

Hallo and thanks for posting, please where did you find your RMC bridge and how did you install it? Thanks again 🙏
@midiguitarist4140 Жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching. For acoustic guitars you need 6 separate pickup sensors: stores.soundislandmusic.com/rmc-acoustic-system/?page=1 and the the Polydrive II as an outboard preamp or the Polydrive IV for fitting into the guitar. I chose the Polydrive II because firstly I didn’t want to mess with the guitar body and on the second hand I can use one preamp for two separate guitars. I went to a professional luthier to have the the pickup sensors fitted. I hope that helps and I wish you lots of fun on your MIDI guitar journey.

Are u Play without gk cable and serial cable?
@midiguitarist41406 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. I play with both cables - the guitar has RMC pickups and an external RMC Poly Drive II preamp. The 13-pin cable runs from the preamp to the the BOSS GKC-AD converter, and from there the serial cable goes into the GM-800. stores.soundislandmusic.com/rmc-acoustic-system/?page=2

Where did you place the synth pickup? its not visible on your guitar.

Where do you have GK-5 devidended pickup?
@midiguitarist4140 Жыл бұрын
As I wrote in the video description - both guitars have RMC (Roger Mc Clish) pickups and run into a preamp called Polydrive II. From there the 13-pin cable goes into the BOSS GKC-AD which has the same TRS output as the GK-5 and goes into the GM-800.

How do you plug into the GM800 with your acoustic guitar?...just straight in?...it would nice to show us your patch signal chain...because, some say they have issues with the GK5 tracking but you don't seem to be using that with your guitar. Is plugging in direct a good choice for acoustic guitar?...
@midiguitarist4140 Жыл бұрын
You can't plug in directly from your guitar pickup as the GM needs a GK-ready signal. I have my acoustic guitars equipped with 6 separate RMC pickups (one for each string) and the guitar output (RMC cable) runs into the RMC Poly Drive II preamp: stores.soundislandmusic.com/rmc-acoustic-system/ from there the 13-pin cable goes into the BOSS GKC-AD converter (which you have to obtain separately) - from there a BOSS BGK cable finally runs into the GM-800. The guitar output from my Poly Drive II runs directly into my audio interface and my computer where I do all the sound processing in Gig Performer. I hope that makes sense - feel free to ask again if something is not clear to you. Have lots of fun with your MIDI guitar endeavours!
