Not necessarily though there is a fair amount of overlap but that’s not necessarily a negative. Most important thing is to get started and build your income over time to continue investing more as time goes on. I just surpassed ~$150K from an initial deposit of 35K seventeen months ago...

I lost a lot chasing individual stocks and I feel pretty stupid for not understanding how investing works. I have a double major in economics but I’ve been trying to make sense of the market. Well done on profits!

Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don't try to shoot the lights out. I’m invested in ETFs, equity index funds, and individual stocks and use a CFA. On average, she takes 10% of earnings, but using *Lina Dineikiene's* system makes it much more hands-off. I conservatively follow her recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this makes it fairly simple for me... I am convinced it's not just hard work but smart work :-)

First off, it's in poor taste to simply answer a question with a question while promoting your channel. Additionally, you have not answered my question so I will definitely Not check your channel due to the generic copy-and-paste nature of the way you're attempting to highjack the popularity of Tae's video. Try 1st answering the person's question and actually provide quality that's how the game is played.@Wealthwisecapital1

In the UK, I’ve just invested in VUSA and VWRL, adding small but regular amounts to my fund. I’ve a third ETF in the UK FTSE 100. It’s a 40/40/20 (ish) split. I would appreciate some feedback on this. Love the videos, your calm, clear and concise approach to investments and sensible financial management.

It seems like most of the advice out there is for younger people who are far from retirement and have a lot of years to invest. I'm in my early 70's and a bit behind and on top of it not knowledgeable in the field, but debt free. What would be a good safe Vanguard ETF to sink some money into without excessive risk but decent growth. I can put in about 50 grand a year in. I was considering the VYM ETF but no one seems to mention it. Tae seems to like the VOO. Any thoughts will be welcome. Still doing a lot of research before jumping in.

Not sure if you reply to comments but I love your videos! Even created a brokerage account and got the VTSAX. I went on to use this for my 401k but turns out I’m limited in options. There’s a standard S&P 500 fund I put it into for a low fee but not sure how different it is from the other desired VFIAX (also not approved 401k fund at my employer) looking for clarity or idea how to mimick it per-se

For now. But over-reliance on US leaves you over-exposed and you’ll miss International gains
@MeltingRubberZ28
@MeltingRubberZ28 10 ай бұрын
@DefenestrateYourself yeah that's a bit of a misnomer. SP500 businesses do lots of international business, so they get plenty of exposure. International businesses also don't have to be held to the same standards for bookkeeping. Also, there is always conversion expenses with international funds. I'm content letting the current gains spike up my portfolio and then just letting dividends sustain me during dry periods.

VOO tracks the same index as the VFIAX. Generally tracking and performing the same, the index fund allows you to set up automatic investments whereas the etf does not; you have to purchase it manually. The index funds often have a nominal minimum to invest and may have a .01% higher fee.
