I enjoyed this heart touching video. I felt like a millionaire when my husband and I paid a lawn spray service for weed control/fertilizer instead of buying "weed and feed" at a store and spreading it ourselves.

Hi, I started my 250k portfolio last year with SCHD, VOO, and VUG after watching one of your videos. In terms of share price, VOO is way up (22.25%) and VUG is waaaaay up (39.62%). Thanks for the education! Will this provide solid cashflow?

I agree, while balancing your portfolio allocations. I’d suggest you go with a managed portfolio, but even those don’t perform so well, so it’s best you reach out to a proper fiduciary to guide you, that’s what works for my spouse and I. We've made over 80% capital growth minus dividends.

I had a conversation with someone where I shared that the best time for me to work out is 3 AM. He responded by saying, "I could never wake up at 3 AM." I replied, "I know." He asked, "How do you know?" I answered, "Because you just said you can't." Everything starts with your mindset.

It's a common misconception that when a stock you buy skyrockets, the smart thing to do is sell it (or at least sell some of it) to lock in your profits. But the context matters. If the stock has increased sharply because the business is performing exceptionally well, it could still be a bargain. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas...

I think the safest strategy is to diversify investments. Like spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850K

Hmm if you truly enjoy playing golf a membership to a private golf club may be worth it if it means not having to wait for tee times at a public golf course or being able to play golf with out feeling crowded or rushed. A private exclusive gym that is never crowded so you never have to wait for a machine or a bench or a squat rack may be worth it vs always having to wait for someone to finish their set or having to try to work in with someone at a cheaper gym that more people go to. If this gyms is in multiple locations throughout the US or the world then you know you can get in get your workout done and get out quickly regardless of where you are without having to wait. Similarly if a private club gives you more unfettered access to activities you truly enjoy then it can be worth it for that reason. Stealth wealth would not be not belonging to these clubs but rather not talking about it or mentioning your membership in them. You go to a private exclusive gym, workout quietly and efficiently and leave and don't mention where you workout. Or you go play golf but you don't draw attention to where you play golf when not on the golf course.

I used to work as an investment advisor. The advice presented in the video is excellent and holds true for the average American. While it's a fact that money can't directly buy genuine happiness, it does provide the means to access experiences that can lead to happiness. However, for individuals with a substantial portfolio, say around $5 million, if you observe closely, you'll find that most people in their 70s are still quite active (I live in LA), but by the time they reach 80, their activity levels tend to decline. So, it's essential to enjoy life at some point before it's too late. That enjoyable vacation might well be the experience that brings comfort in your later years. It's important to distinguish between spending money wisely and squandering it. Be prudent in your value-conscious spending.

Experienced the same thing. The financial counselor we met with last year told us, "Guys, you've already made it," even though my spouse has retired. Stop delaying enjoyable activities in life.

I completely agree. I'm 54 years old and recently retired with roughly $1.8m in outside retirement funds, no debt, and very little money in retirement funds relative to the total value of my portfolio over the past 3 years. To be honest, the Fin-advisor's role can only be downplayed, not dismissed. Simply try to identify a reliable one. Spending money on possibilities and things that might not exist much sooner than we realize is completely different from wasting it. As you said, being value-conscious is essential.

I agree you pay less fees when investing on your own, but…. I’ve been investing for 4 years, 2 years on my own and 2 years with an investment advisor. And I have to say I’ve invested a lot more when I have the accountability of someone I have to call and tell them not to take my auto draft this month, then when I’m doing it myself.

When I started investing last year, I avoided significant mistakes. I've focused on investing modest sums in stable businesses for the long term. If stocks perform well, I hold onto them; otherwise, I reinvest losses into profits. Recently, I made $9.5k from a $4k investment in NVIDIA.

Exactly, a good number of people discredit the effectiveness of financial advisor, but over the past 10years, I’ve had a financial advisor consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/expenses and I’ve made over $3million in gains… might not be a lot but i'm financially secure and that's fine by me.

Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. So yes i think every investor should consider a similar approach.

The key to big returns is not big moving stocks. It's managing risk in relationship to reward. Having the correct size on and turning your edge as many times as necessary to reach your goal. That holds true from long term investing to day trading.

If you do decide to make new purchases, have an exit strategy ready. Consider taking partial profits quickly to lock in some gains. I've been in regular contact with a financial analyst since covid. Investing in popular stocks is now quite straightforward; the issue is determining when to buy and sell. My advisor makes investment and exit decisions for my account, which has risen to more than $500K in less than a year.

Tae, I want to follow JL Collins and others play on just investing in VTI and VOO (no bonds for me I have a lot of years ahead of me). Only thing is those ETFs are at all time highs or atleast towards those highs with a massive spike up over the last 5-7 years… that said I want to sell everything else and move my 90% sell off into VTI VOO for overall new investing strategy and safety for 30 years+ What’re your thoughts? I’m nervous I’ll sell off my stocks, buy into the ETF to high and get crushed in a high buy that’ll take however many years to recover.
