Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I've learned this from my own experience. If you're new to investing or don't have much time, it's best to get advice from an expert.

The issue is people have the "I want to do it myself mentality" but not equipped enough for a crash, hence get burnt. Ideally, advisors are reps for investing jobs, and at first-hand encounter, my portfolio has yielded over 300% since 2020 just after the pandemic to date.

This is some questionable advice. 12 months of expenses in cash is a comical amount. Put the majority of that in index funds and you’ll be money ahead and still have plenty of liquidity if an emergency happens.

I'm going to provide an argument to get a large car; safety. I've spent lots of time in an Emergency Room. I saw one man who was in a small car, hit by a larger car. He had ruptured organs, 10 broken bones, he needed about 500+ stitches (4+ hours of work), his scalp was partially de gloved, he had a 10" gash on the side of his neck...and he was awake for all of it. Being in a small car that gets hit by a big car can be a disaster. If you have a family that you want to keep safe, I think its worth the cost premium for the larger car.

A clarification on Buffet. Plenty of people can pick stocks like him in the short term. Long-term, most won't last. His "power" is his profound discipline. In addition to having a prodigious memory and thirst for reading and thinking about what he reads. People assume he is a genius. He is "technically" a genius, having an IQ is the top 98th percentile. But he is not being falsely humble when he tells us that he is not a genius. I would trade a few IQ points for his memory or his level of discipline, though. It is legendary, in my estimation. Hope that comes out how I want it to. Warren and Charlie's focus and discipline is what should be emulated. And Buffet's specification for the wealth being in a few funds that this video talks about. The years where his stock picks were tailed, and the value increased because people were all buying what Berkshire Hathaway owned, aren't what I cared about.

Some individuals minimize the importance of counsel until they make regrettable mistakes. A few summers ago, following a protracted divorce, I needed a significant push to keep my firm afloat. I believe the safest approach is to diversify your investments. By spreading your funds across different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and international stocks than putting all your money in one. If your financial understanding is lacking, see a financial consultant.

I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment.
